The party was styled for Momoko.

The tables were covered in lace, delicate dishes and silverware, flowers that fell from vases covered in Victorian paintings. It was the most extravagant tea party to ever be thrown, with tiny, thin china cups and a too many tiny little finger foods being passed around to count. The ballroom has been styled in extravagant Baroque, as the Capitol was fairly liberal with their adaption of historical time periods.

The costumes were just as liberally chosen, from tall, powdered wigs holding birdcages with live birds, clearly hailing in the style of Marie Antoinette to regency gowns gathered under daringly (and occasionally outright) exposed busts to tight corsets and the skeletons of skirts exposed and decorated. A quarter played live music at one end of the room, before a wide dance floor.

At the head of the room there was a long table with a throne for Momoko, as elaborate as anything else in the room. And along the long table, group close to those who they seemed to enjoy, was a place for many of the Tributes, with a small place card that said "Special guest of The Capitol." This table was fed first, received drinks first, and was clearly favored.

Any Tributes not seated at the long table with their peers were dispersed among the the smaller table spread about the room, left to rub elbows with the guests invited from the Capitol, and the reporters covering the event. Security was, if anything, tighter than the last crowning.

These people have seats a the big kids table. You guys are free to decide who sits by who (And if three people sit by one person, don't worry too much about it) but they are, when possible set by their friends:

"You're wrong," Blaine said after a moment. "You are special."

Atticus laughed, surprised. "What? Why?"

"Because you're you," Blaine said. Then he chuckled a bit. "Maybe it's a conceited thing on my part, but hearing someone who sounds so much like me being down on himself is weird. You came out of the Arena without crawling into a corner and crying for the next month. That really says something about what you can do."

"Well, yeah, but so did you. That's all I mean." He shrugged. "I wasn't being down on myself."

Blaine looked at him for a moment, widening his eyes. "You sure?" he asked softly. "Because I'm not going to tolerate someone talking bad about a friend."

He laughed again. "Yeah, I'm sure. But I do appreciate the support."

Blaine smiled a bit and put a hand on Atticus's arm. "Hey, I mean it about you being special though. You're talented, strong, and you care about people. It doesn't hurt that you can turn into a wolf either, but even besides that you've been a great friend to me so far," he pointed out carefully. "Don't sell yourself short."

Atticus rubbed the back of his neck, blushing a little. "I...don't know about the wolf thing, but...thanks?"

Blaine took his hand back to sip at his drink. He smiled a bit at Atticus. "You're welcome," he said. "And I'm sorry if that subject makes you uncomfortable." He wasn't sure how he would feel about being a werewolf, and he didn't want to make it look like he was judging Atticus.

"No, it's okay. I...well, people here seem to be okay wit it? It's just that I never told anybody at home."

"Not even your dad?" Blaine asked, treading carefully in case it was a painful subject.

He shrugged, wrinkling his nose a little. "How do you tell your dad something like that?"

"The same way you tell him you're gay, I suppose?" Blaine suggested.

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Two problems with that. One," he says, holding up one finger, "I never had to tell him I was gay. And two," he holds up another, "At least people, like, know about gay people. And it's okay to be gay. Werewolves are, like, completely different."

"It's okay to be a werewolf too," Blaine said. "As long as you're not a total jerk about it, and you're not."

Atticus frowned a little, leaning closer to Blaine. "I...I'm not sure I am here. Not really."

"What do you mean?" Blaine asked, uncertain. "You think you're a jerk?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"No, I mean...I don't know. I don't think I'm a werewolf here. It all...feels different."

[mediumdrip]

"Is that because of what the Capitol does to people?" Blaine asked. "A lot of people have powers in the Arena they don't have when they're out."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"I guess? I didn't have them all the time in the arena either. Not until I fell into that crevasse thing."

[mediumdrip]

"That's where people got their powers back," Blaine pointed out. "I wonder if every Arena will have places where you'll have access to your wolf?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"I don't know," Atticus said, frowning thoughtfully. "I guess it would come in handy? I...don't like to, though."

[mediumdrip]

"You'd rather not be a werewolf?" he asked after a moment, still not sure if this was an okay thing to be talking about. "Why?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"It's...hard to control, for one thing," Atticus said hesitantly, not sure if he should be telling Blaine this. "And it fucking hurts."

Blaine's face grew concerned at the mention of pain. "Oh, I didn't know. I'm sorry."
