The party was styled for Momoko.

The tables were covered in lace, delicate dishes and silverware, flowers that fell from vases covered in Victorian paintings. It was the most extravagant tea party to ever be thrown, with tiny, thin china cups and a too many tiny little finger foods being passed around to count. The ballroom has been styled in extravagant Baroque, as the Capitol was fairly liberal with their adaption of historical time periods.

The costumes were just as liberally chosen, from tall, powdered wigs holding birdcages with live birds, clearly hailing in the style of Marie Antoinette to regency gowns gathered under daringly (and occasionally outright) exposed busts to tight corsets and the skeletons of skirts exposed and decorated. A quarter played live music at one end of the room, before a wide dance floor.

At the head of the room there was a long table with a throne for Momoko, as elaborate as anything else in the room. And along the long table, group close to those who they seemed to enjoy, was a place for many of the Tributes, with a small place card that said "Special guest of The Capitol." This table was fed first, received drinks first, and was clearly favored.

Any Tributes not seated at the long table with their peers were dispersed among the the smaller table spread about the room, left to rub elbows with the guests invited from the Capitol, and the reporters covering the event. Security was, if anything, tighter than the last crowning.

These people have seats a the big kids table. You guys are free to decide who sits by who (And if three people sit by one person, don't worry too much about it) but they are, when possible set by their friends:

"Diana," Blaine said. He looked around for any sign of her and pointed out the Wonder Woman. "She's there. In yellow. She had dark black hair. She's really great."

"Oh," Atticus said, scanning the crowd until he saw her. "That's cool. That's...a good way to do things, right? Find an ally?"

"Well, for me it is. I'm pretty useless in a fight."

"Yeah, I'm not great with it either."

"Well, we'll figure something out. We can always learn or get friends who know what they're doing."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah. I've been going down to the training center a lot, but I don't know if I'm actually getting better."

Blaine nodded. "Have you been taking many of their classes?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"A couple? Like the one about which plants are safe?"

[mediumdrip]

"Yeah," Blaine said. "That would be good if we knew what the Arena is going to be."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah. But I figure...there's gotta be plants, right?"

[mediumdrip]

"I hope so. Were there plants in the last one?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, a few. I mean...not much grows in the arctic."

[mediumdrip]

"I really hope that they pick somewhere warmer this time."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Me too. That was...really sucky for a while."

Once he'd shifted, or even once he'd gotten his powers back, it hadn't been so bad.

"I, um, it must have been really hard for you. I wonder if they'll put in some extra clothes for you this time. So you'll have something when you..." He trailed off, a little embarrassed to be talking about this or how changing back leaves Atticus naked.

Atticus flushed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Um...that'd be nice? But I...don't think they...probably will."

He was just now realizing that everyone in this room had probably seen him naked.

Blaine pressed his lips together. "If I wake up in the Capitol first, I'll see if I can send you some." His voice was careful, as he knew that he was talking about his own death.

Atticus smiled, and then frowned, not sure which was the appropriate response to that. "Um...thanks. Really. If I get back first, I'll...try to help you out too."

Blaine nodded at that. "It's a deal then," he said.

Atticus smiled. "Awesome."

"Now let's talk about something happier," Blaine suggested, giving Atticus a smile that wasn't tainted by worry.

Atticus laughed, nodded. "Yeah, let's totally do that."

Blaine nodded to the dance floor. "Looks like there's going to be some dancing. We can look forward to that, can't we?"

He laughed again.

"Yeah, I guess? I'm gonna need to drink more for that."

Blaine raised his brow a bit. "Oh, if you think I'm not going to drag you out there, you're sadly mistaken."
