The party was styled for Momoko.

The tables were covered in lace, delicate dishes and silverware, flowers that fell from vases covered in Victorian paintings. It was the most extravagant tea party to ever be thrown, with tiny, thin china cups and a too many tiny little finger foods being passed around to count. The ballroom has been styled in extravagant Baroque, as the Capitol was fairly liberal with their adaption of historical time periods.

The costumes were just as liberally chosen, from tall, powdered wigs holding birdcages with live birds, clearly hailing in the style of Marie Antoinette to regency gowns gathered under daringly (and occasionally outright) exposed busts to tight corsets and the skeletons of skirts exposed and decorated. A quarter played live music at one end of the room, before a wide dance floor.

At the head of the room there was a long table with a throne for Momoko, as elaborate as anything else in the room. And along the long table, group close to those who they seemed to enjoy, was a place for many of the Tributes, with a small place card that said "Special guest of The Capitol." This table was fed first, received drinks first, and was clearly favored.

Any Tributes not seated at the long table with their peers were dispersed among the the smaller table spread about the room, left to rub elbows with the guests invited from the Capitol, and the reporters covering the event. Security was, if anything, tighter than the last crowning.

These people have seats a the big kids table. You guys are free to decide who sits by who (And if three people sit by one person, don't worry too much about it) but they are, when possible set by their friends:

"Yeah, I..." He frowned, blushing and ducking his head. "The last guy I was with was like...six six."

He shook his head. "So you've...got a boyfriend?"

Blaine winces a bit. "Not really. We're, um, broken up. I probably shouldn't have called him that," he felt like an idiot now that he thought of it. "I did something really horrible and it really hurt him. He was completely right to call it off with me but we saw each other over Christmas." A pause. "That's where I was when they took me here. I was in his apartment on Christmas."

"Fuck, man," Atticus said, moving his hand to Blaine's shoulder and giving it a squeeze. "That really sucks."

"It's kind of dumb that I'm so depressed because it was Christmas," he said. He found himself leaning a bit into Atticus then, seeking out the comfort being offered. "This place is the worst Christmas gift I can think of."

"No, it totally makes sense."

Have a huge hug, Blaine. Atticus was pretty good at those.

Blaine leaned into the hug, returning it a bit by putting his hand back on Atticus's chest.

Atticus rubbed his hand over Blaine's back. "I mean...it sucks to be here anyway, right? But at Christmas...that just really sucks. Christmas is...for family."

"Or friends," Blaine said. "Sometimes friends are your family."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, or friends," Atticus agreed quietly.

Blaine grew silent for a while as he leaned against Atticus. Finally he said, "I wonder if they even have Christmas here."

Atticus frowned as he considered that.

"If they don't...we could just have one ourselves."

[mediumdrip]

Blaine smiled a bit at the idea. "Hey, we could get some of our friends in on it. I think some of them come from realities without Christmas."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, we should! Nobody should be without Christmas."

[mediumdrip]

"I don't even know when we'd celebrate it here though? Sometime in the the winter, but they don't exactly keep time the same way, do they?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

He shrugs. "Four days after the solstice? They have to have a solstice."

[mediumdrip]

He nodded at that. "Sounds about right," he said. "So we'll see if they have it and plan if they don't." A pause. "Even if they do, because I don't want to know what kind of twisted things they think of as a holiday."

"Oh, yeah." He wrinkles his nose. "Probably not the best idea."

Finishing his drink, he grins at Blaine. "Wanna dance?"

"Are you drunk enough?" Blaine asked. "Because I'd love to."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"If I get any drunker, I won't be able to dance," Atticus said with a laugh. "It's kind of a fine balance."

[mediumdrip]

Blaine pushes up then and offers his hand to Atticus. "Well come on," he says. "I'm not about to waste the perfect balance."

Atticus laughed as he took Blaine's hand. "Let's go!"

Blaine laughed a bit as he moved to pull Atticus to the floor.

Grinning, Atticus followed easily.

Once they get to the floor Blaine presses close to Atticus. "Ready?" he asks before falling in step with the other dancers on the floor. He enjoys dancing with Atticus, even if they have to sort of watch the other dancers to get the steps right.

"Yep!" Atticus definitely struggles with getting the steps right, but he has fun doing it anyway.
