The party was styled for Momoko.

The tables were covered in lace, delicate dishes and silverware, flowers that fell from vases covered in Victorian paintings. It was the most extravagant tea party to ever be thrown, with tiny, thin china cups and a too many tiny little finger foods being passed around to count. The ballroom has been styled in extravagant Baroque, as the Capitol was fairly liberal with their adaption of historical time periods.

The costumes were just as liberally chosen, from tall, powdered wigs holding birdcages with live birds, clearly hailing in the style of Marie Antoinette to regency gowns gathered under daringly (and occasionally outright) exposed busts to tight corsets and the skeletons of skirts exposed and decorated. A quarter played live music at one end of the room, before a wide dance floor.

At the head of the room there was a long table with a throne for Momoko, as elaborate as anything else in the room. And along the long table, group close to those who they seemed to enjoy, was a place for many of the Tributes, with a small place card that said "Special guest of The Capitol." This table was fed first, received drinks first, and was clearly favored.

Any Tributes not seated at the long table with their peers were dispersed among the the smaller table spread about the room, left to rub elbows with the guests invited from the Capitol, and the reporters covering the event. Security was, if anything, tighter than the last crowning.

These people have seats a the big kids table. You guys are free to decide who sits by who (And if three people sit by one person, don't worry too much about it) but they are, when possible set by their friends:

Thankfully, Atticus is neither allergic (in his human form, at least) or even aware that silver can do anything bad to him. He's dressed all in ambers and oranges that match his eyes. Not a color palette he'd have chosen for himself, but he didn't really mind so much. (He'd have added a bow tie too, but his stylist told him he didn't need one.)

"Hey," he said to Blaine as he took his seat. "Not a bad party?"

Blaine grinned a bit at Atticus. "Not at all," he said. "If this is what you get when you win, maybe I should be trying harder?"

"Don't you, like, not have to play again if you win too?" Atticus asks, half-serious.

"True," Blaine said smiling a bit. "And I hear there are other perks? But I guess that would depend on what's true. I don't trust everything I hear about this place."

"What other perks?" Atticus asked. He hadn't heard of anything else, really, but he also hadn't talked to many victors.

"A paycheck? We're all supported by the Capitol now, but the credit cards are just that. Credit. When you're a Victor you have an actual income."

"Oh."

He frowned, looking around the room. "Um...do we have to pay the credit back?"

[mediumdrip]

"I think so," Blaine said thoughtfully. "I'm not sure how they expect us to do that though."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"I don't have any...well, I don't have much money," Atticus mused. "I got a little money after the last arena."

[mediumdrip]

"You did?" Blaine said after a moment. "What for? Did they tell you?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

He shook his head. "Nope. I still don't know what it was for. I thought it was for the arena, but...you didn't get any?"

"I didn't," Blaine said thoughtfully. "Maybe they like you more?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Maybe? I don't know why, though. I'm...nothing special."

Putting aside the whole wolf thing, at least.

"You're wrong," Blaine said after a moment. "You are special."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus laughed, surprised. "What? Why?"

"Because you're you," Blaine said. Then he chuckled a bit. "Maybe it's a conceited thing on my part, but hearing someone who sounds so much like me being down on himself is weird. You came out of the Arena without crawling into a corner and crying for the next month. That really says something about what you can do."

"Well, yeah, but so did you. That's all I mean." He shrugged. "I wasn't being down on myself."

Blaine looked at him for a moment, widening his eyes. "You sure?" he asked softly. "Because I'm not going to tolerate someone talking bad about a friend."

He laughed again. "Yeah, I'm sure. But I do appreciate the support."

Blaine smiled a bit and put a hand on Atticus's arm. "Hey, I mean it about you being special though. You're talented, strong, and you care about people. It doesn't hurt that you can turn into a wolf either, but even besides that you've been a great friend to me so far," he pointed out carefully. "Don't sell yourself short."

Atticus rubbed the back of his neck, blushing a little. "I...don't know about the wolf thing, but...thanks?"

Blaine took his hand back to sip at his drink. He smiled a bit at Atticus. "You're welcome," he said. "And I'm sorry if that subject makes you uncomfortable." He wasn't sure how he would feel about being a werewolf, and he didn't want to make it look like he was judging Atticus.

"No, it's okay. I...well, people here seem to be okay wit it? It's just that I never told anybody at home."

"Not even your dad?" Blaine asked, treading carefully in case it was a painful subject.

He shrugged, wrinkling his nose a little. "How do you tell your dad something like that?"
