Are you, Are you coming to the tree? [Open!]
WHO| Katniss and YOU
WHAT| Just arriving~
WHEN| 5/2 (What a lovely almost birthday present...)
WHERE| Wandering, I guess. Otherwise just the Tribute's quarters...
She didn't know what to do with herself right now. No Peeta, No Haymitch. No one was in this room with her. So she just wandered, leaving the room that looked too much like her room on the train for her liking. She wanted more than anything to be back in District 12. She'd even stay in her house in Victor's Square without complaint if that wish was granted to her.
She hated everything about the Capitol with every fiber of her being. Yet, she would continue to follow Haymitch's advice from her first games: Stay alive. And so she walks with quiet, sure, steps with that thought in mind.
Stay alive.

Putting on his Finnick the Sex Object front he quietly strolled up behind her and purred in her ear, "If you were looking for my bedroom you just passed it, Miss Everdeen."

His smirk was incredibly off putting. It served the purpose of creeping her out and moving behind her didn't do him any favors.
"I wasn't looking but thanks for the tip." There was a slight bite to her tone, but she tried to keep it subtle for the sake of not coming across as threatening. Though she had to admit that enemies here didn't matter to her either way. It would only help her figure out that line if she met him in the arena.
Assuming she's in capitol clothing...^^;;
Finnick checked out the new victor standing in front of him, making it obvious that his eyes are examining her head to toe before meeting her face again- most Capitol women blush from it, but she just seems to be made slightly uneasy. She looked rather frazzled, probably from having just won a Games and being back in the Capitol so soon. He felt bad for the girl really. She was so new and fresh to the life of a victor and now the game was all changing.
"So where'd those pretty little-girl dresses go?" she had definitely made a complete shift from that homely look to another Capitol influenced victor. "Don't get me wrong, you pull off the sexy woman look real well, but I almost didn't recognize you."
Cinna dresses her well~
"Maybe I out grew them." She just keeps her gaze locked on his, noting quietly that they were a striking shade of green that she'd never seen before. No wonder he had so many fans. Okay, maybe this scrutiny was making her blush just a bit.

"Have you been down to the parties yet?" Though he is sure he would have heard about it from Mags or someone if she had been spotted already.
"You ought to go down with me," the idea suddenly occurred to him. "Think of the stir the two of us would cause being seen together." Annie was staying in the suite for as long as she possibly could and even if she saw him with Katniss, she'd know what he was doing. "I'm sure it would benefit both of us." He added a wink at the end of that, still standing very much inside her personal boundaries despite leaning against the wall as he spoke.

He was laying it on pretty thick, inviting her to some party where he had the advantage of knowing people there and she didn't. They would probably be the talk of the Capitol if she played his game and went with him. She did want to figure out where Haymitch had wandered off to. Knowing him, it was to wherever there was alcohol.
"I'm sure we'd make quite the splash." She couldn't help rolling her eyes. He was frustrating and all she wanted to do was to scurry on back to her safe haven that was the District 12 Quarters. She shouldn't have wandered this far down.

"I mean, you know how all of this works, right?" He turned his head slightly so he could examine her out of the corner of his eye. "You'll want attention because for some of us, it isn't about if sponsors like your tribute. It's if they like you." And while watching Katniss' build up until her time in the arena, he could see through her and noticed she was struggling with personality. "These Capitol people flock to victors and it's really not the tributes who win over their sponsorship."
He threw in his closing argument, "Anyway, I wouldn't want to be you going down there alone now. Not every victor is going to be as fun as I am." He paused to look around. "And I don't see Peeta so why don't you let me escort you down until he shows up? I assure you, I'm a professional." He smirked as he closed with a wink. His stance was still seductive and relaying the message of 'I'm interested in you' which could be taken in a number of ways, but usually perceived in only one when in the Capitol.

"So, if I go to this thing with you are you going to keep being so hideously flirty?" That was her basically telling you she doesn't buy what your selling, Finnick Odair.
no subject
"I'll stop being hideously flirty if you just pretend to like my company." He leaned in for a moment to speak softly in her ear. "It’s all just acting in the end after all." To suggest that everyone there is simply pretending. The victors, the Capitol citizens, everyone. He hoped she would catch on then that he wasn’t going to pull anything funny on her.
"Shall we?" He turned and offered his arm to her.

She shrugs, not committing to any kind of enthusiasm in the least. She did not get excited about these things even if Cinna often dressed her to the nines. "I'll pretend to like your company when I'm sure you're not going to stab me in the back."
Her words were frank and her tone was venomous and yet calm all in the same breath. She just takes his arm in answer, falling into a stony silence. She didn't trust him - couldn't trust anyone besides Peeta, really. She would protect him. That was the goal of all this.

Effie was truly thrilled to have a victor. They had finally managed to get, well, somewhere.
She just wished her victor wasn't so hard to keep track of. Not that Haymitch was much better.
It must be something about District 12. Though Peeta was much better behaved.
no subject
"Hey. Where is everyone?" She's noticably tense, if you can't tell Effie. She'd still rather be anywhere but here in the Capitol, despite knowing some of the whys and the hows of why she was there. It didn't mean she had to like it.
no subject
"If you aren't doing anything, I could certainly use the help."
no subject
"What do you need me to do?"
no subject
"...although maybe we should get you to your prep team before heading out."
no subject
"What's wrong with this?" Sure it wasn't some frivolous sparkly dress but Cinna had picked out her entire wardrobe. It was day clothes and maybe some preparation would help as well. She just was half nervous about facing all of those people and half unsure of herself. Both negatives.
no subject
"Well there's nothing wrong with the dress dear. It's just your face." She paused, realizing that that was a little, well...blunt. "I mean, you have a lovely face, you just need...hmm. Come here."
Effie could probably get this taken care of, at least to a reasonable level, with out having to track down any of the prep team.

Hurrying back, heels tapping, she dumped a handful of makeup, hair pins and more on the small end table next to Katniss.

Ah...tough, kick-ass JJ. He missed his friends dearly.
She looked a little sad to him, maybe even a little lonely. She had a tight smile plastered across her face, looking somewhat friendly but her eyes tell a different story. She would rather be anywhere but here...and he knew exactly how she felt.
Note: Derek is from the show 'Criminal Minds' and he just saw his friend, Emily died in the games. He doesn't know that people can come back to life after being killed in the Games so he's grieving.

She tried to soften her expression, play the game - make some allies. That would be this type of situation right? Haymitch would be a better judge of who was an ally and who was an enemy than her. She'd have to ask him later.
She takes a moment to size this guy up when she notices him.
"You new?" A simple and direct question to start. It was better than nothing, right?
[ooc:Also... Katniss is brunette not blonde! Sorry for any confusion :3]
no subject
"Yes," he said quietly.
Derek was never uncomfortable to be at a party like this but this time, he was. It only goes to show how unnerving this place was. Everything about this place, this world - Panem - made his stomach churn. The worst part was that the people seemed to enjoy and love their own people killing each other on national TV like it was just another horrible reality TV show.
"I'm Derek," he continued, stretching his hand out. "I'm a federal agent. Are you from here?"

It's wandering the hallway - she can't even be sure where she'd been going at first - that she spies the other girl at a near distance. She blinks at her a moment, thinks that this girl looks incredibly familiar though she's quite certain they have never met.
Annie does her best not to see, not to pay attention; not to people in the Capitol, not to the Games. But the world is saturated. Inundated. She would have had to be living under a rock to not know who Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, was. And much as she often wishes she had been, Annie had not been under a rock for the past year.
She almost panics at first, unsure if she should even say hello. Katniss was so... new to all of this. Annie doesn't expect the other girl to even know who she is. She never expects anyone to know, really, but they often do. But she simply doesn't want to trouble the girl any more than she probably is. Then again, Annie is looking right at her. It would be strange to pretend that she hasn't been staring. But maybe she is a little strange, since all she does is stare at her, still too nervous to speak.

Katniss can't help studying the girl with her mess of dark hair and mossy green eyes. She doesn't seem hostile.
"Hey." The girl is practically staring off in space now and it's only slightly unnerving. She wishes she could lose her thoughts as easily, to not think about this place and the people in it.
no subject
"Hello," she says and tries to smile, but it probably comes across as looking a little terrified, so she tries to cover it up by continuing to speak, but she can't think of anything to say so she settles on asking the first thing that comes to mind. "Are you....are you Katniss?"
no subject
"Yeah, Katniss Everdeen. You?" She was sensing a pattern today of running across people she was 90 percent sure she didn't know or hadn't seen from previous games. She wasn't sure about this girl anymore than the girl was sure about her.

"Ugh, Does Finnick always act so weird?" She had to ask. They were from the same District so Annie knew him best. Finnick had been annoying her the second she met him.
no subject
"I am, yes," she nods at the question about her name. "And he's... um, Finnick is very friendly, I guess you could say."
no subject
"Yeah, he's friendly alright. Does he always act that weird around people? Or is it just people he wants to freak out?" She caught on fairly quickly he was just sizing her up, fresh meat and all.
