Who: Glinda, Blaine, Shion, Calico and Julie
What: Being interviewed for Captiol Citizenship
Where: Lounge of the Tribute tower
When: Through the week?
Warnings: None as of yet.

For each interview, Glinda made sure that there was tea and snacks fine enough for an afternoon tea each time, thanking the avoxes profusely for their assistance. Upon the recieving the note telling her to contact the other Tributes (And a Captiolian?) she made appointments with each on separate days and made sure to clear her social diary as much as humanly possible. This was by far more important to her.

When they arrived she would rise to meet them with a smile. "Thank you so very much for coming."
26th-May-2013 08:12 pm - [PARTY POST]
itwasrhetorical: (Default)
Who: Glinda Upland and OPEN
What: A support group for people who've lost their powers in the Capitol.
Where: A suitably swankified meeting room in the capitol.
When: Sunday afternoon/evening.
Warnings/Notes: It's a support group intended for those who've lost their powers but there's nothing to say that other characters wouldn't hear about it and want to come along. Glinda wouldn't have anyone removed that wasn't invited. Feel free to use this as a party post and talk to other power nerfed characters.

The invitation had been sent to the Capitol escorts with the intention of them passing it on to the correct people in their groups of tributes. It was clearly intended for people who'd had their powers taken by the Capitol with no way of using them, though a few got given to those that shouldn't have received them.

Glinda's invitation. It's pink with charmingly fancy script. It invites the tributes to a gathering of 'likewise' people.

The meeting place was tastefully but sparingly decorated with lots of comfortable chairs for sitting and tucked away corners that would be perfect to discuss matters privately if an individual was shy about their particular power. Every care had been taken to ensure that the tributes would feel at home in the small cosy meeting hall and Glinda would take every care to ensure that she spoke to each and every tribute to welcome them and learn their name. She had been slacking in her self appointed duty of caring for those who needed it most and there were some here that definitely required her attentions.

After everybody had been sufficiently welcomed in and it seemed no more tributes, mentors or escorts were to arise the witch took to the pupil. "My fellow tributes. I can only thank you all for attending as gracefully as I might wish to though it pales in comparison to the gratications I feel toward you all." She pressed a hand to her heart. "I have brought you here as I know I am not the only person within these walls that has had her powers taken from her for her own protection and that of our gracious hosts; the Nation of Panem and President Snow. I am sure each and every one of us understands deep in our hearts the depth of feeling that the nation holds for us as it's tributes. And it's sincere wish to keep us safe when not competing in the arena." A subtle warning to the more foolhardy in the audience.

"But, for once I wish for us to have a unique opportunity that we have brought about ourselves. There is many a person in this room whom you have doubtlessly never spoken with before." She spread her arms. "Let us speak and know each other better. For we should be there to support our fellow tributes who have lost what so many believe to be an essential part of ourselves in the Capitol's rightful strivances to protect both us and it's citizens. I suggest that perhaps we might learn that we are in fact more than what we have had taken. But most of all, I wish that you all might find close friends and good fortune here."

And with that charged little speech she gestured to little crowd of avoxes who began circling with food and drink and all were encouraged to socialise among themselves whilst polite music played in the background.

Who| Every tribute.
What| Interview time!
Where| The training center.
When| Through out the week after the arena's end.
Warnings/Notes| You can either reply in prose or action, but please use the text area box and leave the questions bolded for mod ease. Also, nothing will be left private, she's lying. We're not sure when part 2 of this plot will happen, so feel free to take your time responding.

Through out the week, each tribute is escorted to an office room. It is a nice, posh comfortable room, with light food and drink to the tributes preference set out on the table.

A screen comes on, showing a very friendly looking, but strangely generic female. Although it is too minor to truly be noticed, the avatar is geared to subtly reflect the tribute to put them at ease, and their style is very simple for the Capitol.

The avatar speak in a calm yet friendly and engaging voice. Again, pitched to a tone similar to the tribute being interviewed.

"Hello! Given the influx of new tribute, the Capitol would like to get to know you, one by one, in your own words. Everything shared here will be between you and the screen, so feel free to speak freely!"

The woman goes through her questions, waiting for a response from the tribute. If a tribute doesn't respond, they are left in 10 minutes of silence before the next question is asked. Anything, no matter how it relates to the question, is treated as a proper answer.

Who| Everyone
What| Lockdown
Where| Tribute Training Center
When| Starting around dusk
Warnings/Notes| None atm. If your character tries anything extravagant, shoot the mods a pm.

Dusk was falling when it started.

Anyone in the District 12 suite's would have heard heavy sounds above them moments before a loud explosion rocked the entire building. The electricity flickers once, twice, then goes out, replaced by cool, blue glowing lights running along the ceilings. Avoxes appeared silently, as they do, herding people from one room to another.

Once the door shuts, it doesn't open again until the last person is there, sealed shut. The windows in the rooms with them were darkened, and the computer would not respond to any request to show anything. However, food could be called to the room, the trays appearing as they normally do. But the doors would not budge, and the cool blue lights stayed the only light source, the only power.

Although there was nothing to see, there was lots to hear. Banging, foot steps in the halls, on the floors above, explosions, straining metal collapsing, scraping down the side of the building. Occasionally the repetitive rapping of gun shots. Yelling. Screaming. Those near the top of the building could smell smoke, at times strongly. The elevator can be heard moving up and down, even though it doesn't respond to any calls from those trapped.

The sounds last into the late night, finally quieting around midnight. Finally, at 1 am, a calm, cool voice comes over the loud speakers.

"The rebellion forces have been repressed. We will be clearing the building for the next few hours. Please stay patient and sleep well."

WHO| Glinda and whomever might come across her
WHAT| Glinda gets drunk off her bubble
WHERE| District 9 Suite and Capitol bar
WHEN| A couple days after valentines
WARNINGS| Drunkenness and reminiscing on the arena

She'd sat in her room for hours in the outfit she'd been put into that morning.

Glinda had spent the last few days in seclusion since making a fool of herself on her first outing out since leaving the Arena. But unfortunately every time she closed her eyes she had nightmares. It was of herself, a wicked witch, one who used dark magicks and killed people and took no kindness or joy in the world and sought only greed and evil.

She found her feet bringing her out of the tribute suite and into the Capitol's streets.

The witch didn't know where she was going but she knew that she needed something to make her forget lest she never sleep again. It wasn't long until she brought herself to the door of a tavern. Normally she wouldn't dare. She was too highborn a lady to go into a tavern. Something prompted her into pushing the door open and going inside though. Before long she was sat and staring at a neon coloured cocktail.

Hours passed and glasses came and went and now Glinda found herself slumped forward in her seat and leaning on the table, cheeks pink and room spinning uncomfortingly. She was also drinking the next concoction they'd brought her through a curly straw. Oh how the mighty had fallen, she bitterly thought to herself.

WHO: Glinda and OPEN
WHAT: Last minute training to try to teach herself some survival skills.
WHERE: Training level
WHEN: Today. Morning through to night.
WARNINGS/NOTES:
Feel free to encounter her anywhere around the stations, just let me know.

Glinda had no intentions of leaving the training room without a literal fight. And seeing as real fighting wasn't particularly permitted it seemed that nobody was going to force her.

She'd had a nice enough time in the Capitol so far but the looming doom of another Arena - apparently the cruel things were frequent - left her feeling anxious and terrified. Enough so that she was waking with a start at night in cold sweats. She couldn't put it off any longer. If her magic wasn't going to be forthcoming despite her frequent attempts to schmooze the best of the Capitol's elite then she would jut have to learn how to defend herself with her own two hands.

Glinda made careful note to visit as many stations and get experience handling as many weapons as possible although the longstaff was most definitely her favourite weapon. It was the only one that she knew how to hold and twirl with ease.
