Who| Jack, Calico, and anyone in the District 7, 8 and 9 suites because it will be really loud.
What| Long story short? Calico's returned and Jack is pissed because everything is a big misunderstanding.
Where| The District 8 suite
When| Beginning of Week 4.
Warnings/Notes| Lots of yelling and language. And Jack being Jack.
She was back. Finally, after after three weeks, she was back. And she was smiling and grinning and making trinkets like she hadn't a care in the world.
Jack was frankly surprised she bothered showing her face, much less returning to the Training Center. Indeed, he felt rage boil inside of him at the thought, the sheer and blatant disrespect Calico was showing. He thought Calico was better than that. And then, after he became worried sick about her after her drunken rants, and her behavior? And then, the explosions backhome in District 8? She just returns?
Someone had to have told her, at least about the news in general. Why hadn't she responded, come back, gave any indication she cared? Where had she been? Where? Why?
The King of Victors didn't even bother announcing his arrival, or give anyone any forewarning of when he was arriving. No. He barged in, like a panther on the prowl, and headed straight towards Calico's room, intending to rip the door off its hinges if necessary. This was going to stop. He would make sure it stopped. As far as he was concerned, Calico had crossed a line.
And God help her if he spotted any alcohol in there with her.

"You have got a lot of nerve showing up like this."
The words were practically hissed out of Jack's mouth as he approached her. There were storms in the boy's eyes, and while it would be cliche to say it, they were ominous indeed.
"Two weeks. I was looking for you for two weeks. In the Capitol, and in the District." Now that she was here, he couldn't help the anger as it began to boil over. "Tell me, did you finally find a bar seedy enough that I couldn't find you and drag you out of there?"
no subject
She put down her sewing.
A bar. Right. A bar. Calico didn't even WANT to think about alcohol. She shouldn't have drank again. What was it? Sixty eight people - sixty nine, including that girl they had killed in the Capitol - Andrea. She had the blood of sixty nine peole on her hands because of alcohol and her own gobbyness.
She picked up her sewing again, bending her head to sew miniscule beads onto the silk.
"Don't wanna talk abou' it, Jack, love. 's done now. Over. Lets move on."

Punch. Jack's fist connected to the wall.
"I want to know why. Are you even aware what happened while you were gone? Do you even care?" Jack's voice began to raise. "They didn't tell me. They pretended that they didn't and nothing bad happened. But I could tell. People we knew were in that accident!"
And louder.
"PEOPLE YOU KNEW, CAL! AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO FIND THAT OUT, DID YOU!"
no subject
Calico didn't blink as Jack's fist connected, didn't even look up from her sewing. She couldn't. She was too ashamed.
"What d'you mean, what's happened?"
She paled, ever so slightly. They had told her, of course, about the explosion. They'd made her experience it, see it. See the faces of her mom and dad and her brother, Drill and his wife and their child. Torn apart. Dead. She had thought - hoped it was an illusion. An illusion and cruel, cruel words. Even at the end when they had said it, she had hoped - but no.
No, they were dead. And it was her fault. She closed her eyes for just a second, fighting her urge to cry and sobb and confess what had happened to Jack. She couldn't, though. They'd kill Bobbin.
So quietly, she asked, "What accident? Who did I know?"
no subject
At this, he started to shake.
"And you're sitting here knitting. WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD!!"
no subject
"All of them?" Her voice was a whisper. "So it's really true?"
And then she looked up. "Jack, was Bobbin there? Tell me - was Bobbin with my parents?"
She bit her lip hard to stop herself from crying. She couldn't cry or else it'd all come out, about her arrest, her torture, her ongoing punishment...
"I - I - " She had no idea what to say, how to defend herself. She COULDN'T defend herself. She had done this. Her and her stupid binge drinking and her big mouth. She wanted to rage against the Capitol, scream and shout and yell about what they had done to her.
But, she couldn't. She couldn't say a word. One more peep, another toe out of line, and Bobbin, and a load more of the people from District 8 would be involved in an explosion or a crash or - or, she was so incredibly, incredibly stuck. She might not be in chains any more, but she was a prisoner of the Capitol nonetheless. And for everyone's sakes, she was going to affect the don't care ambivalence of the Capitol and cry behind closed doors.

He didn't know the answer about her brother. At the moment, he didn't care.
He was shaking. He was supposed to be the heartless one who didn't care. He was supposed to be the one who abandoned people.
"You SELFISH, SOTTED, NO GOOD--"
He wanted to hit her. He wanted to hit her, punch sense into her. That had been her family. Her blood. Jack at least had an excuse to pretend he had no ties, he was an orphan. But Calico was supposed to be different. She was supposed to be the caring one. Then she went and did this.
But he couldn't hit her. So he punched the wall, hard. The sound of creaking metal and popping knuckles filled the room, causing the wall to shake.
"GNNNNGH!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, WOMAN!?"

She caught sight of a photo on her wall; she and her parents, when they'd been brought up to the Capitol for her 21st. Gone. They were gone. And it was her fault.
"Stop it, Jack. You're gonna hurt yourself." She sounded tired. She was tired.
"There ain't nowt wrong with me. What am I supposed to do?"

A voice every bit as booming as Jack's cut through the tension building in the air and one Harley Quinn could be seen in the doorway with her arms folded across her chest looking irritated, which for anyone who knew her was strange.
"Keep it down will ya! Some recently killed people are tryin' to have some deeply introspective moments of anxiety where they question their worth in the grand scheme of the universe and all this shouting is really cutting into their uncontrollable sobbing and nightmares."
Of course this she said with a stern "Mommies angry" voice, the same way she would talk to her hyenas at home.

At this, Jack whipped around to face Harley.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
no subject
"Lets grab Topher and Holiday and make it a frigging party," she half muttered under her breath, before turning to face the doorway.
"Now, Jack. That ain't the way ter speak to our guest. Have you come for a bracelet, love? That'll make you feel better about dying."
She felt - stupid didn't even scratch what she felt. But she kept that happy grin in place, as if she was pleased to see Harley, as if the poor woman hadn't just died and been revived - as if everything was okay.
no subject
"Did you make this?" She cooed.
no subject
"This was none of your business."
no subject
"Yeah, course I did, love. D'you think I jus' sit 'ere and do nowt whilst you're all off fightin' and 'avin' adventures?" Sick, she felt sick - and definitely couldn't meet Harley's eyes.
"I make most of me own clothes - an' for me tributes too - an' they're a damn sight be'er than the stylists."
Her stylists might disagree with that.
no subject
"Well that's one way to keep moral up!"
Glancing back as if she had just remembered Jack was there. "So is THIS what you were shouting about like some kinda mutated crocodile with a toothache?"
no subject
no subject
"Don't be so rude to our guest." And what a PERFECT excuse to change the conversation. "She's welcome in 'ere for as long as she wants ter talk dresses an' sequins an' stuff."
no subject
"Aw but now I GOTTA know. Dresses are fun but not as much fun as secrets!"
no subject
"It's mentor business, love. Nowt for your ears. Now go on back down - I'll make you as many bangles as you like - even hide that nasty cuff for you. But I bet your escort's looking for you. Go on, now, love."
Calico may be using the tone one generally adopts whilst cajoling a very young child.

"Aw where's the fun in that? It's not like I'm even in your district. Who am I gonna tell?" She insisted while continuing to make silly faces.
Sorry - I was on holiday
Cal's smile was becoming more and more strained. Was Jack going to explode in front of Harley? And it was so hard for her to repress just yelling out EVERYTHING. But she had to do it. She had to. For Bobbin.
Re: Sorry - I was on holiday
No worries
"Aw sheesh, I hope I didn't just ruin your booty call with tall spiky and big mouthed." She had just thought they were just having fun!
Re: No worries
Cal didn't even try to hide her disgust. "He's a bit young for me, love. And definitely a bit on the skinny side. I like my men a bi' stronger, more matue, like. I don' think he'd last too long."
If he was gonna keep tagging out of the room lemme know and I'll delete <3
I think it'll be alright...
^_^ Ah good, I hope Harley didn't screw up the scene
I mean - nope, course not!!!
Yay~ To be honest I've been stalking your girls threads for some time
Really? Aw bless you - feel free to jump in wherever you fancy!
You bet!
