Who| Jack, Calico, and anyone in the District 7, 8 and 9 suites because it will be really loud.
What| Long story short? Calico's returned and Jack is pissed because everything is a big misunderstanding.
Where| The District 8 suite
When| Beginning of Week 4.
Warnings/Notes| Lots of yelling and language. And Jack being Jack.
She was back. Finally, after after three weeks, she was back. And she was smiling and grinning and making trinkets like she hadn't a care in the world.
Jack was frankly surprised she bothered showing her face, much less returning to the Training Center. Indeed, he felt rage boil inside of him at the thought, the sheer and blatant disrespect Calico was showing. He thought Calico was better than that. And then, after he became worried sick about her after her drunken rants, and her behavior? And then, the explosions backhome in District 8? She just returns?
Someone had to have told her, at least about the news in general. Why hadn't she responded, come back, gave any indication she cared? Where had she been? Where? Why?
The King of Victors didn't even bother announcing his arrival, or give anyone any forewarning of when he was arriving. No. He barged in, like a panther on the prowl, and headed straight towards Calico's room, intending to rip the door off its hinges if necessary. This was going to stop. He would make sure it stopped. As far as he was concerned, Calico had crossed a line.
And God help her if he spotted any alcohol in there with her.

"Eva... She lost her son a while ago. She'd do whatever she could to get him back. Help find him, I mean... Even dobbin' on her best mates. Some of us didn't appreciate it. I dunno. Maybe she though' they could speed up the search?"
Lies. Her son was probably dead, executed just as brutally as Cal's own family.

"But you two were BFF's? Gal pals? You'd understand her better then anyone right?" It made her think of Ivy, and that made her sad. But she stuffed those feelings into her stomach to squirm for a bit.

Cal snorted.
"Don't think she appreciated that, somehow. Shouldn't've done it."
And then she caught herself. Cal, idiot! Talking too much.
"Nearly done, love."
no subject
"Is that all though? What's a little breaking and entering between friends? Sounds to me like she needs you more then you need her anyway."
no subject
Cal was clearly impressed. She looked around immediately for some black scraps that she could weave in - or glittery sequins - much more Cal's style.
"How d'yer want 'em?"
To her questioning about Eva, Cal just shrugged and kept mute. She wasn't smiling any more. It was too painful to talk about, and too dangerous.
"Leave it."
no subject
"If you could put em like here, here and here." She tapped at the cuff in three places to imitate her old style.
"Far be it from me to interfere. But I just can't stand idly by when hearts are breaking. Love is one of the most important things like...ever."
no subject
"I'm not in love with Eva. Never were. She were like me mother if anything."
If mothers went out hunting guys with their daughters and talking sex tips... probably not the usual mother-daughter relationship... no.
"We were jus' friends, love. Nothin' more. Bu' she's a bloody traitor an' I ain' bein' friends with scum like tha'."
She stabbed the needle at the cuff angrily as she spoke - better hope it doesn't get you, Harley.
no subject
"And trust me, I know a thing or two about broken hearts. I can spot em a mile away." She added looking down almost casually as the needle jabbed at her.
"If you're lookin' to draw blood you might try it on the other arm so you don't ruin your work."

I ain't goin' back there."
She continued to work quickly, tacking the diamonds into place.
"There, love. Done."
She let go of Harley's hand so the woman could inspect the cuff, and request the amendments.
"I just need a new mate ter go sharkin' with. You know? Jus' in case Petraites gives me the boot, the old sod. No' that I can blame him."
no subject
"Well if by sharkin' you mean hitting the town and flirting and drinking then I'd be down. And I can think of a couple of my fellow human sacrifices that would totally come along. It could be a regular girls night out!" she offered hopefully, apparently finally submitting to dropping talks of her mentor...for now.

And exactly the wrong place for Cal to be seen right now whilst she tried her best to claw back a little bit of respect from ANYONE.
"Drop us a line when you're out, love, and I'll see what I can do."
no subject
And then, demonstrating a complete and total disregard for other peoples personal space, Harley glomped onto Cal in an affectionate and entirely too friendly hug. At least for someone who she had only met less then half an hour ago.
no subject
"Sorry, love. Long time since someone's hugged me."
no subject
"Me too. Not for lack of tryin'. Anytime you need a hug you just gimme a call!" She grinned cheekily. "I'm pretty good at them."
