Who| Jack, Calico, and anyone in the District 7, 8 and 9 suites because it will be really loud.
What| Long story short? Calico's returned and Jack is pissed because everything is a big misunderstanding.
Where| The District 8 suite
When| Beginning of Week 4.
Warnings/Notes| Lots of yelling and language. And Jack being Jack.
She was back. Finally, after after three weeks, she was back. And she was smiling and grinning and making trinkets like she hadn't a care in the world.
Jack was frankly surprised she bothered showing her face, much less returning to the Training Center. Indeed, he felt rage boil inside of him at the thought, the sheer and blatant disrespect Calico was showing. He thought Calico was better than that. And then, after he became worried sick about her after her drunken rants, and her behavior? And then, the explosions backhome in District 8? She just returns?
Someone had to have told her, at least about the news in general. Why hadn't she responded, come back, gave any indication she cared? Where had she been? Where? Why?
The King of Victors didn't even bother announcing his arrival, or give anyone any forewarning of when he was arriving. No. He barged in, like a panther on the prowl, and headed straight towards Calico's room, intending to rip the door off its hinges if necessary. This was going to stop. He would make sure it stopped. As far as he was concerned, Calico had crossed a line.
And God help her if he spotted any alcohol in there with her.

"Don't be so rude to our guest." And what a PERFECT excuse to change the conversation. "She's welcome in 'ere for as long as she wants ter talk dresses an' sequins an' stuff."
no subject
"Aw but now I GOTTA know. Dresses are fun but not as much fun as secrets!"

"It's mentor business, love. Nowt for your ears. Now go on back down - I'll make you as many bangles as you like - even hide that nasty cuff for you. But I bet your escort's looking for you. Go on, now, love."
Calico may be using the tone one generally adopts whilst cajoling a very young child.

"Aw where's the fun in that? It's not like I'm even in your district. Who am I gonna tell?" She insisted while continuing to make silly faces.
Sorry - I was on holiday
Cal's smile was becoming more and more strained. Was Jack going to explode in front of Harley? And it was so hard for her to repress just yelling out EVERYTHING. But she had to do it. She had to. For Bobbin.
Re: Sorry - I was on holiday
No worries
"Aw sheesh, I hope I didn't just ruin your booty call with tall spiky and big mouthed." She had just thought they were just having fun!
Re: No worries
Cal didn't even try to hide her disgust. "He's a bit young for me, love. And definitely a bit on the skinny side. I like my men a bi' stronger, more matue, like. I don' think he'd last too long."
If he was gonna keep tagging out of the room lemme know and I'll delete <3
"Hey any port in a storm they say. But at least you probably ain't hurting for options."
I think it'll be alright...
"Yeah... have you had your offers ye'? Look, this is my man - "
She pulled a photograph that had obviously been ripped out of a magazine from her wall. It was about a year old, and showed a slightly plumper Cal hanging onto the arm of a man who towered over her petite height. He was broad and rough looking, obviously wealthy.
"His name's Petriatus. One of the Capitol money men." She handed the photo to Harley. The bit of text visible on the photo mentioned the 'couple's' on and off relationship.
^_^ Ah good, I hope Harley didn't screw up the scene
Passing back the picture she sighed, "I had offers before the last arena sure. But it seems like everyone's lost their love around here lately." She wrapped her arms around herself and her voice took on a whine. "I miss my Puddin' so much. He always knew just how ta make me laugh. Not like these wanna-be clowns."
I mean - nope, course not!!!
IF he'd still have her... Cal doubted it. Two arrests within six months - breakdowns or morphling binges, the Capitol called them - did not cast a good reflection on him.
"We'll have to go on the hunt together, love. You havin' trouble with your cuff? Who's 'Puddin''? Ain't he 'ere no more?"
Yay~ To be honest I've been stalking your girls threads for some time
"Mister J would love it here though. Not the capitol, you guys are much too up tight here. But the arena? Why my Puddin' has killed more people then a plague! And in creative hilarious ways! He taught me everythin' I know about comedy."
Really? Aw bless you - feel free to jump in wherever you fancy!
"You know wha', though, love? An' I want you to listen dead careful now -"
She lowered her voice to a whisper. "Don' say stuff like tha' about the Capitol. Especially no' where they can hear you, and I'll bet you a cookie to a clothespin tha' they have me room bugged, alrigh'? I ain' exactly Miss Popularity round 'ere."
You bet!
She shrugged, "But death in comedy is always worth it!"
At the second part Harley chortled, "Why do ya think I got this thing?" She swatted at her cuff again but it was still too tight to spin. "No sense of humor I swear. But don't you worry, I wouldn't let someone else take credit for my big mouth." She brought the cuff to her mouth. "YOU HEAR ME IN THERE? I LOVE THE CAPITOL SO TELL EVERYONE TO STOP HATING ON ME ALREADY!!"
It brought her pleasure to think of someone wearing headphones who's ears were ringing now.
Re: You bet!
"I reckon there are be'er ways of makin' people laugh tha' don't end in death, love."
Cal laughed as Harley yelled into her cuff. "Jus' make sure you keep tellin' everyone tha', an' actin' like you do. BELIEVE me, I can tell yer, if you act out, you are gonna meet some people you will wish you never 'ad. An' you will wish you listened to me, 'kay? Now - d'you wanna hide yer cuff?"
Re: You bet!
She sighed relaxing and looking nostalgic.
"And I really do love the capitol. What's not to love? High fashion, rich treats, crazy artistic peoples. Sure it's tighter then a nuns butt, but other then that I adore the people. Least I did before."
Re: You bet!
"Which d'you fancy? We'll make your cuff look like one of these bangles, and then no one will never know that it's no' just one of my bracelets. I've been peddlin' 'em all arena so my lot can 'ide their cuffs. I LOVE the fashion 'ere. When I were little, I were always in trouble at the factory. Instead of sewin' or whatever, I'd be dreamin' about the dresses that were gonna be made with the fabric or tryin' ter figure out 'ow to make 'em on my own. Or how to nick a snippet to add on to me teddy that me mam 'ad made me. An' now look. I can actually do i'. I' can make your dreams come true, this place."
That was a positive - but a warning as well, after her induced nightmares about her parents being killed in an explosion, only to be roused to find that she hadn't hallucinated any of it at all. They were, in fact, dead. Be careful, Miss Harley.
Re: You bet!
"Sounds like you scored big time then coming here. Not nearly as grumpy as some mentors. I don't think I've ever seen Eva crack a smile." She giggled innocently.
Re: You bet!
"Okay - wrist out. I'm gonna use hot glue to attach it to the cuff, okay? If anyone starts ter'ave a go at you, jus' show 'em an'say I did it an' you can't get it off."
She got to work, deftly gluing along the edge of the silk, before starting to apply it to the cuff. She pressed down, waiting for the glue to set. When Harley mentioned Eva, though, she just couldn't help it. the bright smile dropped, and Cal sighed.
"She were me best mate 'ere. An' then she wen' and - nevermind. I ain't goin' back there."
Cal smiled again. "Mentor business, love."

"She did what? Is this about that little confessiony deal before the last arena?" She had been so curious about the whole affair but the arena happened so soon after she could hardly take time to investigate.
no subject
"Eva... She lost her son a while ago. She'd do whatever she could to get him back. Help find him, I mean... Even dobbin' on her best mates. Some of us didn't appreciate it. I dunno. Maybe she though' they could speed up the search?"
Lies. Her son was probably dead, executed just as brutally as Cal's own family.

"But you two were BFF's? Gal pals? You'd understand her better then anyone right?" It made her think of Ivy, and that made her sad. But she stuffed those feelings into her stomach to squirm for a bit.

Cal snorted.
"Don't think she appreciated that, somehow. Shouldn't've done it."
And then she caught herself. Cal, idiot! Talking too much.
"Nearly done, love."
