The advertisements hit hard today. Tune in at 6 o'clock, you won't want to miss this special! Everywhere a person could look, it was there, and the city was clearly excited for whatever this mystery event was.

As if that wasn't enough, escorts were encouraging Tributes to be in the commons, and a small feast of finger foods was laid out along one wall, extra avoxes available for drinks.

And, as promised, at 6 pm sharp, all the TVs flickered to the ever flashy Caesar, on an equally flashy tabloid-tastick reality style "interview" of the tributes. All the TVs in the common area light up with it, as well as the Districts suites, even if the TV had been off before.

"I think it'th great." He's grinning, his brows very well on the way to his hairline. He's giggling, despite the fact it was said he eats human. "You looked fantathtic."

His smile is resigned, awkward and humorless. "Thanks. This is probably the part where I mention my skin's a lot thicker than average, right?"

All things considered, he's not really in a position to comment on people's appearances, but it makes it easy to pick out familiar faces from the broadcast.

He snickers, all of his fangs showing in his grin. "I'll be thure to tenderithe you if I ever get too hungry, but I think you'll be okay, thir."

He's certainly not going to tell him that the interviews were edited heavily.

"There's a lot to work with, so good luck," he mutters before drowning it in a sip of a drink, using it more for something to do than because he was thirsty. He's sure it's all out of context-- he knows what the others would say, after all, and what was shown wasn't it.

He taps his claws together, waggling his fingers at Bruce. "I'm thure if I need that much food in the arena I'll manage." He giggles some more, before growing more...somber.

He can't deny that he's curious about the green.

"How do you do that, anywayth? Ith it pthychic?"

"Not... no." He brushes his hand through his hair with a sigh, not quite wanting to explain it but knowing that it was way too visible to expect not to. "Radiation-based. It's not exactly something I like doing."

[xanthous]

"...Radiation." He knows a bit about radiation, but not much. His knowledge is more geared towards...space travel, computers, networks. Stuff like that, but he knows enough to know that there's more to the transformation then just radiation. "That thoundth unfortunate, but it maketh for good TV."

[hasacondition]

"Yeah, this is pretty new, the uh, film crew doesn't usually stick around that long," he says, lips quirking up in a smile because if they don't, he's not sure how he'll handle it, hands in fists shoved into his pocket. "And it's usually not about taxes, more like... rampaging."

He just keeps getting more and more curious about this. He's not sorry for his curiosity. "I don't even know what tacktheth are. We don't have them on my planet, but I'll take your word that they're not worth thmathing thomething over."

'Tacktheth' takes him a minute, and he looks curious for a second before he puts it together. "Not really. I mean, as a joke, yeah, but it's..." and he pushes his hair back for a second as he reflects on just how often he has to explain modern American life to people, "it's like, the government takes money from you for funding."

What. He blinks, and it takes him a while to figure out what Bruce means. He's never heard of anything so...so silly. "For funding? That...That'th tho thtupid. Why not have everyone jutht work for the government?"

"The idea is that they spend it on maintaining public works and protection, and then a lot of it goes towards military and research and development spending that just makes everything worse," he continues casually, taking a sip of his drink before going on to avoid drawing too much attention to it. "But it all depends on what type of government you have."

"That's abtholutely nothing clothe to what it wath like for our Empire," he says. The more he learns about humans and their culture, the less it makes sense to him. He honestly has no idea how their society hasn't collapsed completely. "We had droneth for everything, and everything would be torn down and rebuilt and jutht." He waves a hand as he tries to think of how to word it.

"Our government wath much more efficient."

He shrugs, because he didn't design it, and he has a lot to say about just how much taxpayer money went into pumping him up to level their own cities. "Kinda interesting, huh? Some places pay taxes, some don't, some have death games."

The number wouldn't mean much to the Psiioniic - though now that he thinks of it, he would have rather paid out a billion caegars and not have had to become a Helmsman. "Ith there any reathon you humanth lack conthithtenthy?"
