[Closed] District 9: Meet the Prawns
Who| Those in District 9 suites, whether they should be there, or not
What| Likely, inter-district arguments, and bad caricatures
Where| District 9 Suites
When| Post arena
Warnings/Notes| Language and likely that's all.
Parker's been redecorating. Considering she can't climb buildings, or steal things(well, a few things from the bitch with the bubbles's room have gone missing) Parker's got one avenue left, art. Usually, her drawings are realistic, without passion. This time, she's gone through many, many different versions trying to make her subjects look as ridiculous as possible.
The bitch with the bubbles has too many matchy-matchy things. (Well, not so much anymore.) The sponsor who is not as intelligent as the seagulls from that movie about finding a fish, cares about appearances too.
It took 37 different pieces of paper, and 3 pencils, sharpened down to nubs, to make them look this horrible. The final pieces are on display, tacked to a focal wall in the suite.

The artist is nearby.

"Don't touch me, or you'll learn to fly." Not like Parker: she loves to fly. No, she once intended to push Tara from a building, a side of Parker rarely seen, but Eva's getting it in full force.
"Don't know the district. They don't do anything but watch."

"That means I won't feel guilt when the Peacekeepers haul you away. We could do this two ways, amiga. You could acknowledge that I know what I'm doing and you don't, so you have something to gain from my advice, or I can personally request the Peacekeepers leave the discipline to me after they've subdued you."

"I'm no kind." Great comeback there, Parker. "You don't know me."
Her next one might be a little more resonant. She smiles. There is absolutely no fear. If Eva was a horse, or a psychic, Parker might be afraid, but threats have never worked. Threatening her only makes her think everything the woman says is BS. If Eva really knew what she was doing, she would be Nate.
She does have some rather inappropriate reactions.

"This place? With the tv show that kills kids, for fun? People who let it happen?"
Tilting her head a little, "Jeopardizing the whole damn district," it's a voice now with a similar inflection at the other woman's, "sounds like the right thing."
Parker's toeing the line to get tortured.
Eva's lip twitches with the urge to call Parker a petulant, mewling chlid, but she doesn't.
"Put your arms down."
Parker understands nothing, alas.
"My arms going to kill people now?"

Parker does not understand, but there's something in that sentence that has her curious -- concerned.
It doesn't sound right, and Parker's standards for sounding right are way more flexible than most.
"My arms don't kill anyone."
For the first time in this conversation, Parker is listening.

Parker understands the love of money. She also spots a flaw.
"If if costs so much, what sort of friend makes him lose it?"

There's only one conclusion to draw.
"You're crazier than me."

"You'd like that. Seeing me dead."
Doesn't mean she's off to hang herself. For everything Eva thinks, Parker's a survivor, even if surviving means having others die in her place.
Parker's silent, thinking of what Sophie would say. No, that's wrong, Sophie would smooth this over and come out as a favourite, with new shoes. She's not Sophie. She's Parker, and it's about time she stopped trying to act like everyone else.
"Probably like everyone dead, long as they get you new tributes to play with. Met dictators more human." What is the most offensive thing she could say, something that always gets people upset. "You get off on that?"
Yeah, that's it.
