On the morning of February 14th when the Tributes come down for breakfast they're greeted by an impressive holiday themed spread. Pink and red baked goods, chocolates shaped like hearts, beautiful red and pink flowers, adorable stuffed animals all line the table.

On the table is also a sign in cursive that reads:

To our beloved Tributes, Victors, Mentors, Escorts and Stylists. Enjoy your holiday. -- Bartlett Industries

Most of the sweets are completely harmless, but if the Tributes taste the chocolate covered cherries or caramels they find themselves suddenly acting very strangely...

"It's a whole technique, really," Blaine admits. "A process that I'm very dedicated to. I could teach you that too?"

"How long does it take you?"

"Half an hour? Forty five minutes? About that... Longer if I fell asleep with wet hair."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus laughs, snorting a little. "I don't remember the last time I got up more than forty-five minutes before I had to be somewhere."

"I guess that means you're a roll out of bed and throw on the nearest clean thing sort of guy?" Blaine says. "That's not me at all."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, pretty much," Atticus agrees. "I mean, I have to do something with all this." He gestures to his hair. "But if I sleep late, I just don't worry about it."

"I can only do that when I'm depressed," Blaine comments lightly.

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus smiles a bit and shifts closer, oddly content with this kid who looks just like him.

"Yeah, I usually just don't get out of bed at all, then."

There had been a couple of days, just after the first time he'd shifted, that had turned out like that.

Blaine's hand ends up moving to Atticus's hair. He plays a bit with the curls, curious about them. It's easier to be curious about curls that aren't his own. He doesn't have to be disgusted looking at them on another person's head. It feels nice to be touching Atticus, even if they are basically strangers. It's strange how much he wants to touch him, to prove that he's real and just for the sake of touching. He tries to tell himself it just has to do with the fact that they're doppelgangers.

"I was that way after my boyfriend and I broke up," he says, using the statement as a way to out himself without just flat out saying 'I'm gay!'

Atticus finds himself smiling more as he leans into the touch. It feels nice. He's kind of a touch/feely sort of person, but he doesn't know anybody here well enough for that yet.

"Oh, man, I'm sorry. That sucks. Were you guys together long?"

Blaine nods a bit. "Long enough... It's not even about that though. I did something really stupid to lose him." He looks away from Atticus's hair to focus on his eyes. "Are you any good at relationships?"

Atticus ducks his head, blushing a little. "Not really? I mean, I don't really know. I've never had a boyfriend."

"What about a girlfriend?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

He laughs, snorting again. "Oh, god no."

[mediumdrip]

"Good," Blaine says before he thinks. "I guess that means we're both gay?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, I guess so. Kind of weird, huh?"

[mediumdrip]

"Why?" Blaine asks. "Honestly it'd be weirder to me to see someone who looks like me like girls that way."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, I guess that would be pretty weird, huh?" He tries to picture it and just ends up giggling.

Blaine ends up giggling with him and then leans in towards him, wanting more contact.

"I tried to date a girl once. It didn't work out."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus makes a face at the thought. "I've known for a pretty long time that I was gay. I mean, I've kissed a couple girls when I was really, really drunk, but that's about it."

"I was drunk too!" Blaine says, laughing. "I made out with her and then tried going on a date with her, but as soon as she kissed me while I was sober? Nothing. 100% gay."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, I know what you mean. Girls are fun to cuddle with and have drunken make outs with but sober? Give me a cock any day."

He shakes his head, laughing, and then blushes a little. "Oops. Sorry. I...probably shouldn't just blurt out stuff like that, huh?"

"No, but I completely agree."

"Sorry. Just...you know, sometimes the filter is just not working. Usually when I've been drinking, though."

"Have you been drinking?" Blaine asks curiously.
