On the morning of February 14th when the Tributes come down for breakfast they're greeted by an impressive holiday themed spread. Pink and red baked goods, chocolates shaped like hearts, beautiful red and pink flowers, adorable stuffed animals all line the table.

On the table is also a sign in cursive that reads:

To our beloved Tributes, Victors, Mentors, Escorts and Stylists. Enjoy your holiday. -- Bartlett Industries

Most of the sweets are completely harmless, but if the Tributes taste the chocolate covered cherries or caramels they find themselves suddenly acting very strangely...

"Sorry. Just...you know, sometimes the filter is just not working. Usually when I've been drinking, though."

"Have you been drinking?" Blaine asks curiously.

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Not yet? Definitely thought about it since getting here, though."

[mediumdrip]

"Me too," Blaine says. "I don't think it would make it any easier."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"It would for a little bit? But yeah. Not going to change anything."

[mediumdrip]

"Let's try it out sometime though, if only for that little bit."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, definitely," Atticus says, shifting to settle against Blaine comfortable.

[mediumdrip]

Blaine ends up moving closer and putting an arm around him. "I feel warm," he comments because it seems like something to say.

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus smiles. "Yeah, me too."

[mediumdrip]

"It's nice though."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Yeah, cozy," Atticus agrees. As loath as he is to admit it, he's kind of missed the warmth that came with being all wolfy.

[mediumdrip]

"What's your family like?" Blaine asks, continuing questions to help him get to know Atticus.

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Um...just me and my dad now. He's a teacher."

[mediumdrip]

"That's cool. Does he accept you?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus eyes him warily a moment. How does he know...?

And then it hits him, and he laughs a little, "That I'm gay, you mean?"

[mediumdrip]

"Yeah, of course," Blaine says earnestly. "Does he?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Oh, yeah. Totally. My parents were really supportive when I was figuring it out," Atticus says, nodding.

"What about you?"

[mediumdrip]

Blaine shrugs. "He hasn't disowned me or anything. I just get the feeling he'd rather I be straight."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Oh, man. I'm sorry."

Hey, it's hug time, Blaine!

[mediumdrip]

Blaine hugs back and then just ends up holding Atticus.

[kind_of_a_nerd]

Atticus is pretty okay with that. He just strokes a hand down Blaine's back.

"That really sucks. What's your mom think of it?"

[mediumdrip]

"Mm," Blaine moans softly, reading to the stroking. "It's sort of a hard situation for her. I was bashed a few years ago."

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"Oh my god! I am so sorry."

Yeah, he's never going to stop hugging you now, Blaine.

[mediumdrip]

Blaine doesn't mind the hugging. He smiles into it, pleased over the contact. "It's okay. Nothing happened like that to you?"

[kind_of_a_nerd]

"No. I think I had a pretty easy time of it. I mean, I got teased about it at school sometimes, but I got teased about a lot of things."
