Who| Holly Day and YOU + prompts for Jolie, Oceana and Eponine
What| Holly checks in on people in D10
Where| D10 suites
When| Present
Warnings/Notes|
It's been an extremely, extremely stressful couple of weeks. The news of the murder and the subsequent arrests left Holly extremely rattled- and don't even get her started on the jailbreaks, let alone the death of Orc. All in all, it's left her needing a couple of days to recover and get herself back together again so she doesn't go weeping in front of tributes. Not only has it been emotionally taxing, but pretty terrifying too- knowing a rebellion is starting to form just isn't fun. But now, with the arena looming ever closer, she's back from her little mini vacation because her tributes need her.
When she enters the district 10 suite, it's quite dramatic and silly. Her drag persona is on in full force and she's ready to spread cheer wherever she can. In fact, she's going to check in on everyone- yes. Everyone in her district, if she can. Which she can't, because some of them are in jail. We don't talk about that.
Either way, if you're in District 10, she will be approaching you. "Hiii!" she says, with such passionate enthusiasm that you just can't ignore her- or possibly it's the opposite, and it makes you want to run away. "How are you?" she might ask you. "It feels like it's been years!" she gushes. Not only that, but she's all fond smiles and affection when she approaches people, as if they're her favorite person in the world. This is good- this is what she's needed to really help heal from all of the drama.

"Statement: You are raised with these things, learn to define them as you grow with experiences. I have not had this experience, so what is native to you is chaos to me. --Also there are a lot of things that meatbags eat." The latter statement is, on it's own, an overwhelming thing to grasp, especially with Capitol eating habits.

"Well," she says, giving him a nod, "You know what you need to do? Take it slow, instead of just diving in. If you try too much at once, you might overwhelm yourself!"
Holly is excited to be able to help him experience this. "So, tell me. Off the top of your head, what's the first thing you think you want to experience now that you're human? It doesn't have to be food. It could be anything!"

What was a good question. What would be a good first... There had never been anything he observed in his travels that he felt a desire or curiosity for, but in this moment he figured that whatever his first is should be something practical. There was still a lingering sensation on his fingertips from when he was going to move Holly's hand and it reaches him.
"Answer: I would like to learn how to define tactile sensations- understand the sense of touch." It's one of the most overwhelming senses to acclimate to, so covering that first seems like a wise idea.

When HK answers her question, it's a good thing that she's already wearing blush, because it hides the natural one that forms on her cheeks. It's an innocent enough request, but there's also the fact that he's rather... attractive. So being asked something like that, well- it's difficult not to be a little flustered, despite the fact she knows he doesn't mean in any way other than innocently.
"O-Oh, of course!" she says quickly, already embarrassed by the fact she'd stuttered a little there. "That's easy. I can also say it's the best thing about being a human- though, I haven't ever been a robot, so I can't really compare it. But... well. Touch is nice. There's more to it than just... you know, what it is, I mean. Because when you're with someone special, it can feel... magical." Oh, she's rambling. "But at it's core, it's simple. So..." Before she can wimp out, she reaches out and grasps his hand softly, holding it in her palm. With her other hand, she traces a fingertip over the back of his hand softly. "How does that feel?"

It's a bit silly how gentle she handles him, like something delicate that would break easily. He wishes that isn't the case but even he has no real idea yet.
"Answer: Like a sensation focused on the particular point of where your hand applies pressure to mine." Okay, the reply is overly technical, jokingly intentional on his part. "I suppose it's what would be defined as a gentle touch. Light. Present but like a ghost feeling."

When he replies, she lets out a laugh. It's more from nerves than anything, breathy and almost a hint of flustered. She has to mentally berate herself for how worked up she's getting over this, gosh.
She gives him a fond smile, shaking her head softly. "I think you're thinking of it in the wrong way," she says. "Sort of... pardon me, I don't mean to sound insensitive. But you're thinking of it the way a robot might." With the hand not holding onto his, she reaches out and presses her hand to his chest. "How does it make you feel here? You know, on the inside."
intentionally uses sort of flowery shoujo writing (≖‿≖✿)
Barely moving his head downward, he looks down at the hand on his chest, like looking at the situation will help him to understand it better. When he moves his eyes back upwards, head still slightly tilted downwards, it's through blond lashes that curious blues gaze up at her.
"Rhetorical: How does someone with only a dictionary definition of an experience learn how to define something as complex as an emotion?" Even with the response, it's pretty apparent that while the soft touches on the back of his hand hadn't caused much reaction, the following action had.
kawaii as hell tbh
At his words, she has to think about it for a moment. She realizes it's much like if a baby were to suddenly grow up in a few seconds, they wouldn't know the words to describe what they're feeling. It's a little different, but it's the same sort of thought. It's hard to put herself in his shoes, so she isn't quite sure how to really explain it.
"Well... it doesn't have to be in a lot of complex words, you know?" she says slowly, her hand still on his chest. "It can be simple. I suppose... well, it really just comes down to whether or not you think it feels good. Would you describe it as pleasant?" she asks, her eyebrows raising just a little. "Though I can say... often times, feelings can be confusing. You won't know until later whether you enjoyed them or not. But- oh, well, that's for another day. This is much simpler than that."
