DUNK A HO
Anyone walking into the tribute center will notice the sign with those three words, flashing in bright neon pink and exploding into rainbows before flashing again. It sits above a dunk tank, an arrow pointing down at the person sitting in on a little platform in the tank, still dry, grinning eagerly at anyone who happens to walk by. A bin of tennis balls is a few feet from the tank, waiting for someone to grab and toss at the target to dunk her.
In her opinion, it's been entirely too long since they've all had a bit of fun, and she's more than happy to encourage it, even at her own expense. Holly benefits as well, of course. She's recently bought some new waterproof makeup, and she's looking for a way to test it- this obviously the way to go about it.
"Come one, come all!" she says loudly, "Try your hand at dunking a ho! I'm far too dry, doesn't anybody wanna make me a little wet?" This will be followed up with a giggle and an exaggerated wink, and she'll continue trying to entice people until someone finally decides to come and dunk a ho. |

| Who| Holly Day + A few other people What| Primary, Holly gets beaten up Where| Different places When| During the plot + Backdated to when HK-47 died Warnings/Notes| A drag queen is getting beaten up
[HK-47]
In all honesty, out of all the fresh new tributes, HK-47 had been the one Holly was rooting for. She'd sponsored him as much as she could and had watched him all up until his final moments, her breath held and a few tears shed. But only because someone was cutting onions, of course. She had hoped he might win, but she supposes this just gives her more opportunity to spoil him in the future when the next arena comes around.
Either way, when he does die and returns, she'll find him as soon as she can. Wherever he might be, it doesn't matter because she slinks up behind him and places her hands over his eyes. "Guess who!" she says, as if the enthusiastic tones doesn't give her away at all.
[Jolie]
Jolie is the first one Holly goes to when things get intense. In a weird sort of way, it feels like Jolie is her drag mother sometimes, though she does prefer to think of her more as a sister than anything. But when something big like this happens, she needs the comforting presence of her drag-sister-mother. It feels like Jolie will know what to do.
She'd been at home when it all started, so it takes her a while to get to the tribute tower and she can already see the signs of rebellion starting. She's sick to her stomach by the time she finds Jolie, but immediately Holly is latching herself onto the older queen's arm.
"I've been looking everywhere for you!" she says, a touch frantically. Her her wavy black wig is a mess, and it seems a little like one of her hips is lopsided. She's been in a hurry, okay? Sometimes things shift a little. "Are you alright?" she asks, brushing some hair out of her face. "This is so scary!"
[Eridan + Stephen later]
It's after her talk with Jolie, when she's learned some things that she would really have preferred not knowing. Holly is trying very hard not to panic as she hurries throughout the tower, trying to calm people down and get them to stop doing things that might anger the Capitol. "Please stop!" she might say as she passes someone, "Don't do that!" is something else. It doesn't seem to work, though, which only gets her increasingly flustered.
"Let the Capitol work this out!" she all but screeches out when she finally loses the ability to keep herself calm, and her attention is on one of the trolls- she doesn't remember his name- but she can tell he's up to no good and it's stressing her right out. "Stop! Stop!" she snaps, her voice frantic and nervous. "You don't know what you're doing, please just let the Capitol handle this!" |

| Who| Everyone who wants to mourn Orc, or wants free food What| A mingle log, where Holly is holding a memorial party on the roof to celebrate Orc's life Where| The roof When| A couple of days before the arena Warnings/Notes| N/A unless you count people being sad about death
Orc's death really shook Holly up. There's nothing she can do about it, nor does she have the courage to speak out about it. But she doesn't have it in her to just pretend it never happened. She was quite fond of Orc, he deserves to be remembered and people deserve to have a place they can do so, regardless of whether or not he was a rebel.
So, a couple of days prior, she starts posting fliers and handing them out to anyone who will take one. They're sparkly, colorful and visually loud just like the Capitol. But their intent is clear; on the roof, she's holding a memorial party for Orc for anyone and everyone to come and celebrate his life.
The memorial is held in the evening, and when the time comes, there is a buffet table with various foods, snacks and drinks, all supplied by Holly herself, and Jolie who helped a little as well. The area is cleared around Eponine's secret place, where a little shrine is set up with a picture of Orc surrounded by candles and other mementos relating to the boy. There's also a podium, where anyone is free to say a few words for him if they so choose.
It's the closest to a funeral that she can get, because she knows she'll never have permission to hold a real one. |

| Who| Holly Day and YOU + prompts for Jolie, Oceana and Eponine What| Holly checks in on people in D10 Where| D10 suites When| Present Warnings/Notes|It's been an extremely, extremely stressful couple of weeks. The news of the murder and the subsequent arrests left Holly extremely rattled- and don't even get her started on the jailbreaks, let alone the death of Orc. All in all, it's left her needing a couple of days to recover and get herself back together again so she doesn't go weeping in front of tributes. Not only has it been emotionally taxing, but pretty terrifying too- knowing a rebellion is starting to form just isn't fun. But now, with the arena looming ever closer, she's back from her little mini vacation because her tributes need her. When she enters the district 10 suite, it's quite dramatic and silly. Her drag persona is on in full force and she's ready to spread cheer wherever she can. In fact, she's going to check in on everyone- yes. Everyone in her district, if she can. Which she can't, because some of them are in jail. We don't talk about that. Either way, if you're in District 10, she will be approaching you. "Hiii!" she says, with such passionate enthusiasm that you just can't ignore her- or possibly it's the opposite, and it makes you want to run away. "How are you?" she might ask you. "It feels like it's been years!" she gushes. Not only that, but she's all fond smiles and affection when she approaches people, as if they're her favorite person in the world. This is good- this is what she's needed to really help heal from all of the drama. |
