Who| Holly Day and YOU + prompts for Jolie, Oceana and Eponine
What| Holly checks in on people in D10
Where| D10 suites
When| Present
Warnings/Notes|
It's been an extremely, extremely stressful couple of weeks. The news of the murder and the subsequent arrests left Holly extremely rattled- and don't even get her started on the jailbreaks, let alone the death of Orc. All in all, it's left her needing a couple of days to recover and get herself back together again so she doesn't go weeping in front of tributes. Not only has it been emotionally taxing, but pretty terrifying too- knowing a rebellion is starting to form just isn't fun. But now, with the arena looming ever closer, she's back from her little mini vacation because her tributes need her.
When she enters the district 10 suite, it's quite dramatic and silly. Her drag persona is on in full force and she's ready to spread cheer wherever she can. In fact, she's going to check in on everyone- yes. Everyone in her district, if she can. Which she can't, because some of them are in jail. We don't talk about that.
Either way, if you're in District 10, she will be approaching you. "Hiii!" she says, with such passionate enthusiasm that you just can't ignore her- or possibly it's the opposite, and it makes you want to run away. "How are you?" she might ask you. "It feels like it's been years!" she gushes. Not only that, but she's all fond smiles and affection when she approaches people, as if they're her favorite person in the world. This is good- this is what she's needed to really help heal from all of the drama.

"I hope so!" she says, and it feels really good to know that she's been missed. "Once the arena starts, I think I'll have a lot more free time- in-between sponsoring people, that is. Speaking of, do you have anyone you plan on trying to sponsor? Anyone caught your eye?"
no subject
At the mention of sponsoring, though, she can't help but look a little sheepish. "Sort of? But he's off-limits to sponsor gifts now, so I guess I gotta find someone else. There's plenty to choose from, at least." Annoying, but it's a reality of what happens when Tributes decide to be fucking stupid.
no subject
She breaks into a grin when Oceana answers the question, though it falters for a brief moment when she mentions that he's barred from getting gifts. "Well... that's unfortunate!" But she sails right on past that quickly enough. "Who is it, though? Is he cute? Tell me all about him. Have you... y'know? Eh?" Nudge nudge.
no subject
"Unfortunate is putting it lightly," she says snidely. She lets out a laugh, like it's the most ridiculous thing she's ever heard. "Oh, please. You know me, I only sleep with straight men who've had too much to drink and who never call me back." It's sort of her type. "But yes, he's cute, and it's a damn shame he's off-limits this round."
no subject
"Well that's a given!" she says, shaking her head exasperatedly. "But you know we all have a side type. The kind of guys we go after when all the straight boys are taken." She lets out an airy laugh. "I..." she trails off, wondering if it's a bad idea to bring it up. In the end, she sighs. "I think I might try and sponsor Eponine," she says. It's a subtle hint towards talking about Orc, without really going the full mile.
no subject
"Fair enough. In that case, my type is muscly with an ass like a fucking apple." Shit. That still doesn't count Bro out. Not even a little bit. Whoops.
But then the conversation is shifting to something a little more serious, and Oceana's mouth twists. Awkward.
"Yeah...I guess if anyone needs it, it's probably her, huh?" She wrinkles her nose. "But will they let you?"
no subject
That is, until Oceana points out that little tidbit that they probably wouldn't let her sponsor Eponine. "Oh..."
The truth is, she hadn't really been thinking about that. She'd been so set on trying to help Eponine get through this arena that it hadn't even occurred to her that like all tributes involved in the jailbreak, Eponine is banned from receiving sponsor gifts. The hurt and sadness hits Holly like a ton of bricks, and she has to pull herself off of the couch so that Oceana can't see the look on her face.
"You're right!" she says a little too cheerfully. Holly is already disguising the sudden movement by stepping over to the mannequin that Oceana's most recent garment is on. She reaches out, brushing her hand along it's fabric. "This is gorgeous," she says, in the attempt to change the subject. "It really is- wow. You've gotten so much better at sewing, I'm so proud of you!"
no subject
"I'm sorry, babe. It sucks." She'd put a hand on her shoulder, but Holly's already pulling away, so Oceana just sucks her teeth, feeling shitty and wishing she had a cigarette. Thankfully, Holly goes ahead and changes the subject, and the younger queen can't help but feel a little grateful.
"Thanks, boo. It's for Elsa. See the hand-stitching on the velvet? Took me six hours, but it ties in Six's theme. The rhinestones on the skirt were a fucking pain, but I'm gonna turn the bitch out."
no subject
"The hard work really shows," she says sincerely, latching onto this new subject herself pretty well. "I mean it. I bet Elsa will love it. Oh, sometimes I really wish she were in 10- she's so pretty. Then again, I wish all of you were in 10... We would love to have you as our stylist, you know."
She sighs wistfully. "But that's just wishful thinking. I'm full of that- like a lot of things." Her eyes widen just a little and she feigns and embarrassed look.
no subject
She gives her drag sister a grin. "Full of dicks, you big slut." She's so proud. So very proud. She might even tear up a little.
no subject
A beat. "Or borrow Nia's hula-hoop purse, I'm sure he could fit in that!" Another giggle, as she gives Oceana a nudge. "And why they gotta be big, hm? You know I don't discriminate on size, girlfriend."
no subject
She shrugs, faking a long, dramatic sigh. "I know, I know. But when you've been around the block as many times as I have, the little ones just don't cut it anymore."
no subject
Oceana probably doesn't know, so she just shrugs after a moment, too. "You always were a literal queen when it came to size, honey," she says with a shake of her head, affectionately of course.
For a long moment, she falls silent, until something comes to mind. "Hey, O?" she asks, her voice a little bit quieter. "Are you busy tonight?" She can't help but fiddle with her wig a little, twisting some hair between her fingers. "I just... I mean, I'm sure you are busy, of course, so. You know, if you can't, but- well. I don't know, just... if you're not, would you come by my house tonight?" There's something that makes her feel silly about asking, but she's been alone for so long mourning Orc that... the prospect of being alone again just isn't all that nice. "I just don't... want to be alone tonight."
no subject
Any further innuendo dies in her throat, though, because Holly's trying to ask her something, and she lets out an impatient snort at how hard the other queen's trying to get it all out. Still, she's a human being, not a bitchy robot, so she just gives Holly a reassuring grin.
"What? Of course, Hol, you know I'm your ride or die." She reaches out to close an acrylic-clawed hand around Holly's wrist. "I'll come over whenever you want."
no subject
"Thank you. So much." That's all she can say, before she's pulling Oceana into a bone crushingly tight hug. Or it would, if she weren't padded the house down. When she finally pulls away after several seconds, she might have a new black streak down her face from a tear or two that she quickly wipes away. "I should go now, then. Busy day, you know? But- I'll see you tonight. Around eight? I'll make you dinner and we can just... hang out. Talk. I miss you."
Even thought you're right here.
no subject
"Eight sounds good. I miss you too, boo. We'll catch up."
no subject
No.
No, she's starting to think thoughts that are only going to make her upset again, so she tries to hold onto the good feelings. The prospect of catching up.
"Looking forward to it." She gives Oceana a wave, then disappears out of the door before she can talk herself into staying longer.
no subject
But she'll bite her lip and go back to whatever she was working on, because she doesn't want to be that guy. If she brought it up now, or tonight, it'd only make things awkward and messy.
