Hans certainly has had her pointed out to him once or twice. He quite vividly recalls Enjolras having an incredibly bitter reaction to the sight of her. He's considerably behind as far as district-mate relations go, but the only way to catch up is to dive right into it.

He returns her smirk with what appears to be an earnest and polite smile, bowing his head in response to the appraisal.

"Thank you." It's curt at first, as he gives her his own brief look of appraisal before deeming the compliment to be sincere enough. "Everyone I've met so far has been surprisingly accommodating."

"They tend to do that." She agreed despite the fact that most of the people were cold and distant to her. They would put on a smile and bring her coffee or tell her how proud they were. But those smiles never met their eyes.

"We'll have to have a sit down and discuss things soon." Azula continued "I don't wish to interrupt your fun here. But later absolutely. I'd love to know how I can help you so that we'll have another Victor soon."

For Hans, even false respect and kindness is enough. It serves its purpose and saves him the burden of attachment that would be nothing but a hindrance in a place like this.

"And I'd love to be given the opportunity." He smiles again, a little wider this time. Perhaps too eager, but he gets the feeling it won't be disconcerting with Azula. "I'll be honest, I feel a little out of my depth." He admits, wondering how she'll react to a show of weakness.

"Really?" She sounded amused, "You don't show it. And such confidence even false will prove useful in earning the support of sponsors." Which while it wasn't the most important aspect of the games, it was by far one of the most helpful.

"Just what was it you did in your own world?"
