Orc looked awkward for all of a moment when she explained and then when she brought up the crowning he nodded dumbly, glad that he hadn't just imagined it...or maybe he did. It was all a dream after all.

"Yeah...Capitol fixed me." That's what he'd been calling it anyway. "I'm just like I was before god punished me."

Tapping the side of his head as if that somehow indicated the words "Flesh and skin"

She lifts an eyebrow. "God punished you? Now, why would you say that?"

Not that she'd rule actual punishment by God out as far as these things go, but in her own experience 'punishments by God' are more like dirty tricks given out by other mortals.

He'd told the story so many times it was becoming easier to do without wanting to slit his own throat. Still he needed some encouragement and snatched a bottle of beer off a passing trey to the servers amused laughter.

"Got drunk." He started and took a swig as if this was a demonstration. "We were all acting like assholes at the time...I hit a girl in the head and...I didn't mean to but it made her brain swell up or something. She died. So god punished me for murdering her and sent the Coyotes to rip me apart. when I woke up I was a freak."

Another swig and he considered if he'd gotten all the important parts out. Seemed like it.

And him just a kid, too.

"Well," she says after a long moment, "I don't know if you've noticed, but when it comes to us tributes, I'm starting to think that the freaks outnumber the 'normal' people."

"Sure looks that way." He shook his head with a rueful smile. "But not me. Not anymore. I'm still a monster...but at least I don't have to look like one anymore."

Because clearly that was the most important thing. But he didn't want to dwell on the truth of his mortal soul. He'd done too much of that and there would be plenty more to do later.

"Been here long?" He offered in a lame attempt to keep the conversation going till he was ready to try and be part of the party again.
