3rd-Apr-2014 11:48 pm - open spectator log because why not
shenunigans: (pic#5842771)
Who| Anyone who wants to spectate but doesn't want to make a million logs
What| Spectations, spectactling, spectalary. Gathering together to cross fingers and watch the mini arena.
Where| The Commons
When| All through the mini-arena. However many hours people feel the need to watch.
Warnings/Notes| Watching your friends die, kind of a huge bummer.

In one of the many tasteful bursts of helpfulness the Capitolites are prone to having, the commons are full of bowls of snacks and drinks. Popcorn or many varieties, candy and drinks are spread across the table, as if it's a delightful addition to the decorum right now. In another bout of helpfulness, there's also over a dozen tissue boxes spread across the room, nested between couches and chairs. Basically, it's all super tasteful.

It's probably a little sickening watching the Arena on the screens in the common room, but it's hard not to keep a close eye on your friends. Surely some people will opt to keep their viewing in private, but perhaps others are inclined to gravitate toward other people while this shit goes all the way down.

As far as parties go, this one is a real stinker.

7th-Jan-2014 07:31 pm - District Tours: Train Ride
etcircenses: (Default)
Prior to their departure, the Tributes have to suffer a photoshoot, a few interviewers asking them a thousand questions about how excited they are, and more than a few members of their style teams asking the Tributes to bring back mementos. "Don't worry about quality, dears, we can get that all here - we want you to bring us souvenirs for the novelty of it!"

The day of the trip, Tributes are roused bright and early, well before sunrise, and driven in Peacekeeper vans to the train station. It's all rather dour, and not like the start of a vacation at all; if one didn't know what was going on, and if the Escorts and head Stylists weren't chattering excitedly, they might think they were being hauled off to a war zone.

The trains, on the other hand, are plush, fancy things, and there is one per District. There's a single blockaded car for cargo, another for maintenance, driving and Peacekeeping staff, and then several others which are open to the Tributes. A dinner car serves three meals and has small snacks available throughout the day. Another car is an entertainment center with a selection of Capitol-approved films, and a the last one is the Tributes' temporary room. It has a bunk bed for each with sheets that was a truly intense threadcount, and a single massage chair in the back. The Stylists, Mentors and Escorts sleep in the same car, although separated by a partition.

Unfortunately, all the Tributes have to share the sleeping quarters, and it's first-come, first-served.

For the most part, the trip is so smooth that the surface of a glass full of water would not be disturbed. The trips to the closer Districts are a little under a day, but the furthest Districts - 3, 4, 7, 8, 11 and 12 - take nearly 48 hours.

[OOC: For Tributes accepted during the District tours, you can assume they arrived before the departure so they can participate in the District festivities. During the train ride there is still network access. There will only be this post and the party post from the mods for this event, so players are encouraged to make their own of their characters exploring their surroundings and enjoying the Districts.]
5th-Jan-2014 04:27 pm - Do not adjust your screen.
thefallout: (Default)
[Like before, the screen turns black, with green text appearing on it.]

I hear they're sending you all out to the Districts to play happy Tributes.

They will tell you all sorts of things while you're out there.

But remember...you all have died for us, and we are thankful. But there are lots of dead children, brothers and sisters from the years before. Aunts and Uncles never meet. Hell, probably a few mothers and fathers.

They don't exactly hand out birth control in the districts. They all know we'd just use it till there were no more of us.

So thankful, yeah. But pissed off too.

Not at you all. But there is too much pain to keep pretending everything is fixed by some magic trick of temporary death.

[A touch screen keyboard, something your devices previously didn't have, appears. The option is only available when you look at this message and its replies.]

((OOC- Replies can be anonymous or not, though ICly your character is going on the word of the post. Please post in your subject whether your comment is anon or not, and make separate threads if you have an anon and  "logged in" reply. Also, although the rebellion may reply, this is more for characters to talk to each other under the guise of anon, or lack of it. You can reply to a logged-in comment anon, and vice versa; just clarify in the subject.))

5th-Dec-2013 11:13 pm - PILLOW FIGHT!!!
clarityinchaos: (is that a horse? Jean?)
Who: Armin Arlert, Eren Yaegar, and YOU
What: GIGANTIC PILLOW FIGHT!!!
When: During the last week of the Arena.
Where: Central Commons and Armin's room.

How we got here )

Later, things had gotten quite out of hand. A pair of forts had been built across the primary traveling space in the Central Commons, heedless of any disapproving looks from escorts, stylists, sponsors, or whatever other Tribute hangers-on were around. A disruptive amount of noise was a certainty, and getting caught in the cross fire was nearly guaranteed.

[OOC: Either Eren or Armin are available for this thread! Join one of their forts and engage in battle, or tell them off for making too much damn noise and whatnot. Boys will be boys.]
17th-Oct-2013 05:53 pm - Know your enemy | Open post!
clarityinchaos: (reading)
Who: Armin Arlert and YOU!!
Where: District 8 common room and the training facility
What: Armin is studying up! Both putting in some training room time and looking at records from old Arenas.
Warnings: None! But let me know if I've got something off in a world sense.

Since that affair with the Aliens was resolved, for good or ill, he supposed it was time to move on to preparing for the next battle ahead of him: His first Arena.

((Choose your own adventure!)) )
27th-Sep-2013 07:39 pm
gamemakers: (surprise.)
Who| Everyone
What| A chance for the teams to meet, mingle, and, lets be honest, for goodbyes to be said.
Where| The common area.
When| Evening before the attack, about a day after Creuntus' network announcement.
Warnings/Notes| Time is going to be a little more wonky then normal, if you haven't noticed. They will be going out to attack "tomorrow" but that thread will not, likely, be posted tomorrow, to give people time to play in this one, etc.

There is food and drink, plenty of it, but no decoration, and it is clear this "party" is no sort of celebration. There is the small spattering of Peacekeepers still in the Capitol, those not on duty at the edge of the boundary.

A long table at the front has a set up for each team. Everyone has a folder with who is in their team, who is watching their team, a list of the various weapons they will have. On the list is a flame thrower, a handful of small explosives, and an automatic weapon for each team member. There are no weapons laid out for the Tributes to handle, however - those were waiting for them elsewhere, for when the mission truly started. Nor does the folder mention that the weapons all switch off outside of the combat area, but it's also not a secret, or a surprise.

Each folder also includes the rather useless stats and images they have of the creatures-the photos are blurry, the stats mainly stack up to "they are very deadly" and a collection of the various bits of information put forth by other tributes who seem to know more then the Capitol. Last, a detailed map of both the neighborhood, and the tunnels for them to study.

Another table has folders for the intel, with much of the same information. Last, a third table is set up for those that are staying at home. Those folders contain some basic first aid information, and a list with what sort of basic medical supplies and food stuff is in the training center.

Each table set up has an Avox or two to hand out the folders. Creuntus is no where to be seen, and you would be lucky to catch any of her team. She knows where she doesn't want to be. The furniture has been dragged to facilitate the conversation of small to medium sized groups. Say, about the size of a team and their Intel.
