Who| Everyone
What| A chance for the teams to meet, mingle, and, lets be honest, for goodbyes to be said.
Where| The common area.
When| Evening before the attack, about a day after Creuntus' network announcement.
Warnings/Notes| Time is going to be a little more wonky then normal, if you haven't noticed. They will be going out to attack "tomorrow" but that thread will not, likely, be posted tomorrow, to give people time to play in this one, etc.

There is food and drink, plenty of it, but no decoration, and it is clear this "party" is no sort of celebration. There is the small spattering of Peacekeepers still in the Capitol, those not on duty at the edge of the boundary.

A long table at the front has a set up for each team. Everyone has a folder with who is in their team, who is watching their team, a list of the various weapons they will have. On the list is a flame thrower, a handful of small explosives, and an automatic weapon for each team member. There are no weapons laid out for the Tributes to handle, however - those were waiting for them elsewhere, for when the mission truly started. Nor does the folder mention that the weapons all switch off outside of the combat area, but it's also not a secret, or a surprise.

Each folder also includes the rather useless stats and images they have of the creatures-the photos are blurry, the stats mainly stack up to "they are very deadly" and a collection of the various bits of information put forth by other tributes who seem to know more then the Capitol. Last, a detailed map of both the neighborhood, and the tunnels for them to study.

Another table has folders for the intel, with much of the same information. Last, a third table is set up for those that are staying at home. Those folders contain some basic first aid information, and a list with what sort of basic medical supplies and food stuff is in the training center.

Each table set up has an Avox or two to hand out the folders. Creuntus is no where to be seen, and you would be lucky to catch any of her team. She knows where she doesn't want to be. The furniture has been dragged to facilitate the conversation of small to medium sized groups. Say, about the size of a team and their Intel.

Homura | Intel, Teams 2 & 7

When the orders came to come to the common area, Homura wasted little time. She walked over, and without missing a beat, did the most important thing that first came to mind.

She helped herself to a cup of coffee and cream. Only when she had her drink did she march towards the intelligence table and pick up the folder with her name on it. Then it was on to sitting in a chair, crossing her legs, reading all of the information given to her.

To others, Homura hardly looked worried. She may as well have been reading the newspaper while she sipped her drink, with the way she seemed to approach the situation. Her expression is cool, inscrutable, and quiet as she flipped through grainy images of corpses and monsters. There was quite a bit of information to go through, and a lot of things to keep in mind. She came prepared, at least, with a highlighter for her second read-through.

...Small explosives.

She wondered if intel would be allowed to have access to some. Just in case.

He'd never spoken to Homura before. But that didn't mean he wasn't ready to work with her on this. They were going to be Intel for Team 2, after all, they would need to collaborate to make sure they brought all of them back alive. And while he came over with a small smile, it was obvious that he was taking this all seriously.

And he was worried. "Homura? I'm Peeta, we're going to be working together." He held up the file for Team 2. "We haven't met before, so I figured it might be easier if we actually knew each other. Or, at least everyone's names."

"I see." At this, Homura looked up. "Peeta Mallark, then. It appears we share what might be the most important team in this endeavor."

He smiled, and nodded. "Just call me Peeta, though, that might be easier in the long run." He looked down at the file in his hands. "This is the most important team? I thought everyone was dealing with the same... whatever it is."

Most important team? Every team was important, in his mind. Maybe he's going to be more protective of this one, because he was helping with them, but it still meant everyone was going up against the same thing.

"Naturally, everyone is." At this, Homura's eyes trailed over towards Peeta. "But as in any play, some actors are more important to the work than others."

Maybe this meant she cared little for the other teams. Or, perhaps, simply looking at it from a detached, strategic point of view.

Or maybe both. There was no point caring about the dozens and dozens of people who she hardly knew, perhaps wouldn't care to know her in any case.

"On our shared team, we have a dragon, whose job it will be to aid in destroying the invasion at its core. It would be unfortunate to lose the other two men on the team, surely, but should we lose her, we will be put in a very difficult situation. Particularly if it results in the birth of a new xenomorph."

Everyone was, of course. Okay, it was kind of weird. It was the same mindset that you used with the arena, though. You helped your tributes win first, friends second, everyone else third. If this was going to be like that?

Peeta didn't want it to be like that. "If we lose her, then the two men left behind need to be prepared on what they should do. In any kind of situation, you should always be prepared for the worst. So we should focus on all three of them."

"Of course, there will always should be a mind for the rest of the team."

It wasn't so much that Homura wanted it that way; far from it. Deep down, if she'd had her way, in an ideal world, everyone would be just fine.

But this was hardly an ideal world, and if anything it was much worse than Mitakihara City in so many ways. Homura knew better than to give in to that deceptive mindset that everything could come out all right, and nothing would go wrong.

"But there will always be someone who turns out to be more important than the others in such situations like this. Important to the team, important for surviving. Important to keep alive."
