The advertisements hit hard today. Tune in at 6 o'clock, you won't want to miss this special! Everywhere a person could look, it was there, and the city was clearly excited for whatever this mystery event was.
As if that wasn't enough, escorts were encouraging Tributes to be in the commons, and a small feast of finger foods was laid out along one wall, extra avoxes available for drinks.
And, as promised, at 6 pm sharp, all the TVs flickered to the ever flashy Caesar, on an equally flashy tabloid-tastick reality style "interview" of the tributes. All the TVs in the common area light up with it, as well as the Districts suites, even if the TV had been off before.

But then, men and women like Chris were lucky to be indoors, so he supposed he couldn't be surprised.
"Oh, yes," he drawled. "Christopher Redfield, the man outsmarted by a bunch of convicts, and his dear sister, Claire, who for years trawled the deserts of the midwest, rescuing lost puppies."
An idle sip of his wine, head tipping as his tongue slid over his teeth. "Personally, what with their constant need of rescue, I think they're of more trouble to Alice than I."

"What? Oh man... he sounds like more of an idiot than I am!" Convicts? Really? "And hey Claire's got a heart of gold, sounds like at least yours and mine are made of the same stuff."
Chris frowned at that. He didn't need a rescue... well okay maybe if he went along with the thought in his head, but he wouldn't deck Wesker right now. He'd wait for it to be more of a statement.
