gamemakers: (capitol exclusive)

The shocking and thrilling adventures!

Who| Everyone
What| The Capitols oh so exclusive interviews~!
Where| Primarily the common areas, but the interviews would be on every TV everywhere.
When| This evening, at 6 pm sharp
Notes| Use this post to ICly react to the interviews (if you don't make plans of your own!)

The advertisements hit hard today. Tune in at 6 o'clock, you won't want to miss this special! Everywhere a person could look, it was there, and the city was clearly excited for whatever this mystery event was.

As if that wasn't enough, escorts were encouraging Tributes to be in the commons, and a small feast of finger foods was laid out along one wall, extra avoxes available for drinks.

And, as promised, at 6 pm sharp, all the TVs flickered to the ever flashy Caesar, on an equally flashy tabloid-tastick reality style "interview" of the tributes. All the TVs in the common area light up with it, as well as the Districts suites, even if the TV had been off before.

Hope you all enjoy your dose of fame!

"Easier to dehumanize and sit back and just enjoy the show," Daniel agreed. He had to wonder why they let the Tributes see each other or talk with each other outside of training if the Capitol went that route. It gave a chance for the others to get to know each other beyond just being a Tribute, capital T, but then again, watching an alliance form probably had entertainment value too.

"Back where I come from, death or extreme violence isn't usually involved. If it happens it's an accident, but it would be unthinkable to have something like this going on."

"It would be where I come from too. To be known about. I mean. It went on, things like this, worse than this..." Screams and smells of rotting flesh flashed into his memory and he took a moment to calm down. "But no one knew about it."

Worse? Daniel could think of any number of countries were atrocities and violations of human rights were pretty much an every day thing. "Worse happens all the time back home, but it's usually away from where the cameras go."

Shion nodded, "Exactly... the government never had enough power to deal with the population if people knew the truth of their actions."

He closed his mouth, he was probably skirting close to dangerous territory.

"In some cases, it's known, but people know but can't do or won't do anything about it, at least until there's a breaking point," Daniel replied. Or an outside influence or really, any number of factors.

Shion nodded understanding. He knew how hard it had been for the people of No. 6 to finally rise up, and he probably would have never broken out of the mold himself if it hadn't been for Rat. "Like in this case then. I doubt there is much that can shake them if they accept this with ease."

"For a lot of the people at the top, it's what they've grown up knowing. But if the Games made a change this drastically, pulling people from everywhere else rather than the Districts, it's breaking a long tradition," Daniel pointed out.

There had to be some unrest somewhere, and Daniel didn't need two guesses as to who the most unrest probably came from.

It was, it did also in Shion's understanding rob them of one of the groups most likely to rebel. It was unlikely the Districts would rise up if it was no longer their children dying, for fear it might be their people once more.

"They seem to have coped alright with the change so far."

Daniel glanced at one screens nearby, and looked away quickly; they'd just flashed that "butcher" commercial, the one with R and the others killing Beck.

"The Games must go on, apparently. But I'm sure it's easier to swallow when it's not your own kids dying in them," Daniel finished quietly. If there was unrest, it might waver because of the big change. Easier to feel for your own than a bunch of strangers.

"Yeah, and when they are strangers from another world." Easier to see them as just actors when they didn't understand their worlds or lives.
