The advertisements hit hard today. Tune in at 6 o'clock, you won't want to miss this special! Everywhere a person could look, it was there, and the city was clearly excited for whatever this mystery event was.
As if that wasn't enough, escorts were encouraging Tributes to be in the commons, and a small feast of finger foods was laid out along one wall, extra avoxes available for drinks.
And, as promised, at 6 pm sharp, all the TVs flickered to the ever flashy Caesar, on an equally flashy tabloid-tastick reality style "interview" of the tributes. All the TVs in the common area light up with it, as well as the Districts suites, even if the TV had been off before.

Her lips twitch and she leans forward, following Venus. She'll get into her space instead of the other way around. Her head tilts to one side and she peers at Venus, looking very much like some sort of predatory bird for a moment.
"I could say no and just kill you in the Arena."

"Eh. You could try. Gotta say, you're the only other woman in this bunch who has a chance of taking me down, but we still tied when we grappled. Besides, I know I team up well with the Dead."

All a day in the life. Venus accents this with a nonchalant sip of her drink, wiggling her toes in their flip flops.
"So anyway, if you're getting thrown off by the fact that I'm not treating you like roadkill like everyone else does, that's just because I'm way, way over judging people by the status of their pulse."

Karis slumps back against the couch, eyeing Venus. She still looks surly, but Karis always looks surly.
"Maybe I'll give you a shot. Maybe I won't. We'll see."
