Callista parried and countered. Despite everything a small smile reached her lips. This at least felt normal.

The rhythm was easy to fall into. Callista was better than her, but also good at leading, practicing. De followed her carefully, watching for things she could pick up.

It was closer to a dance than a fight. Which wasn't anything De had ever encountered before. It wasn't something she disliked.

Callista certainly seemed to be enjoying it. When they finally finished she lowered her blade and bowed her head towards De. "You're good," she said. It wasn't just placating. While De wasn't exactly the most skilled swordsman that Callista had faced, she knew what she was doing.

"You're better."

She leaned her hip on one of the tables, panting softly to catch her breath, before grinning over at Callista. Being beaten by a Jedi really wasn't something to be ashamed of.

"How'd you do after we parted ways?"

De had watched the videos. But she liked to hear it on her own.

Callista winced a bit. "I got eaten by mutts," she admitted. Her voice was steady, even as she talked about her own painful death. It wasn't her first, though it was the first one here. She knew it wouldn't be the last either. There was no use coming to pieces over it. "It wasn't very graceful, I'm afraid. What about you?"
