"Well when you're ready, I'll be in the common room okay? Figure we'll go for a walk or something. Anyone bothers us I'll glare at 'em keep em away." He will too, his glare might not be as effective as say Eliot's but hey! He's still scary enough to play guard dog.

She nods, and closes the door with a smile.

Thirty minutes later (and hey, she rushed), she walked out in a simple sun dress, hair pulled back into a neat bun, with a pretty pink facinator perched over her bangs.

"Shall we?"

Chris was waiting like he said he would and smiled at her offering his arm. He had taken some time to change though, now in slacks with a matching jacket and a nice green colored shirt. The jacket he figured if they were out later she could borrow, wouldn't do to get the district princess cold after all.

"Ready when you are. Any ideas where you want to go?" Because if she didn't like the park idea he'd be willing to go anywhere else, as long as they just got away from the training for a bit.

"Wherever is good." Lottie shrugged, noncommittally. "The park...maybe the boardwalk...arcade."

She hadn't quite gotten up the courage to explore the amusement park yet. Dying 6 times was enough.

"You know I've yet to go to the boardwalk." He smiled. "Should we see if they have any of those cheesey carnival games?" Hey, when Claire was upset those usually cheered her up, if not him making an ass of himself to win her a toy worked.

She gave him a slightly brighter smile.

"Lead the way, good sir."

"So looks like I'm throwing out my arm." He chuckled as he lead the way out of the suite.

Once they were at the boardwalk he walked along beside her. "See anything you want to watch me make an ass out of myself playing sweetheart?" He had no problem with it as long as it got her to laugh.

"Do you have a carnival specialty?"

She hadn't been to one in what felt like ages. And the ones at home, well...they certainly weren't anything like this.

"Not too bad at the milk jugs. Loved football in high school, but I was on the baseball team instead." He chuckled.

"Though I'll try anything that looks interesting at least once. So what do you want to do first Sweetheart?" He was serious too, he wanted to make sure she was having fun.

"Baseball is the great American sport." She said with a nod of approval.

"Let's get some cotton candy first, shall we?"

He chuckled and nodded back to her. "Just as long as it's not yellow. That stuff just doesn't look right." Hey he's against yellow snow cones too.

"I like most sports. Just not good at them, more fun to watch at a bar with friends." He was scouting around at the game booths to see if there was anything he was sure wouldn't be too hard, and other things that he wouldn't mind trying as they walked. "Probably because that was all there was to do in Raccoon if you're in the over 20 crowd." Which made him feel old at 25.

"I don't think I've ever seen yellow cotton candy." She said, arching a brow. "Just the pink kind..."

"Is Raccoon home?" Lottie knows boys will talk about sports until the sun comes up if you let them, but she has nothing else to bring to the table right now, so might as well indulge him.

"Well we'll have to get the blue and green then. Blue's supposed to be raspberries, green's sour apple. Yellow's supposed to be banana, usually it tastes like onions." Okay not really but hey, he doesn't like yellow okay?

He nodded. "Yeah, not as big a city as this, but it was a quiet place to live, I was part of a team that dealt with things the cops and SWAT couldn't." He looked down a moment, he wasn't going to tell her about the zombies or any of the bad stuff, not here not today. "Used to have a carnival mid summer, took up all of the town square, since it was only a block from the precinct me and the guys would meet our girls there for lunch, play a few games, have bad junk food then go catch bad guys and take them out to one of our favorite clubs in the evening." Okay so Chris only took Becky with him, since the youngest member of the team had dragged him out insisting she'd make a scene if someone didn't take her. Beat filling out paperwork for a few hours.

"I think I'll stick with pink."

She gives him a grin, shrugging. Pink was her thing.

"What's the swat?" She asked, decided that asking about his team, or his girl, were probably not conductive to a happy day.

Chris nodded. "Pink it is then."

Hey he might not like it too much, but if she was smiling he'd deal as long as she didn't try to dress him in it.

"It's a specialized group of cops that deal with dangerous and fragile situations, like kidnappings, bomb threats, and stuff like that. My group dealt with things they couldn't and that we didn't want federal officers dealing with, like cults." Hey they had thought that the zombies were a cannibalistic cult for the three months until S.T.A.R.S. were allowed to get involved.
