[OPEN] ► Capitol - A bar | Getting Drunk
WHO| Lindsey McDonald and OPEN
WHAT| Getting drunk
WHEN| Backdated to sometime after Arena 06's victor was decided
WHERE| Some random bar in the Capitol
WARNINGS/NOTES| Lindsey's in a hellish mood
Lindsey didn't realize it at first. Hey, tributes had their own lives, even District mates and buddies who he saw on a regular basis, Gabriel could've hidden himself to get depressed over dying. Lindsey would've understood. Given, he had a better idea of how to get over it in mind, but he would need to find the angel first.
But Gabriel never showed up.
And after a few days of waiting, even after the victor was determined, Lindsey realized that Gabriel was gone.
Just fucking great, every time he got close to someone, made a friend, hell, even forgave an old one enough to maybe consider they could be buddies again, they became Gone. Way to go, Captitol, Panem, or whoever determined things like this. That was why Lindsey found himself some random bar and got drunk.

"I come from Earth, or so it may be called. My home is in Gilead, the last civilized center of the world. As for time, who could say? The world is moving on and time grows thin at the edges, it could be a hundred thousand years since you stood on the same earth I did. Who could know?"

"We do, but what use would it be to tell you I am from the 495th year? Unless you're familiar with the times of Arthur Eld and his kingdom it would be useless. As much as your year is to me. We don't keep count into the thousands of years. And, as I said, time is thin now, nothing moves as it should."

"What?" Oh, that was intelligent. He drank some more of his whiskey but it made no more sense than before.
"You're right, it doesn't tell me anything... neither does what you said on time."

Bert took another sit of his drink, a little disturbed still at how strong it is. But he isn't feeling too out of it yet.
"But worry not, I say many things that make no sense. People with half a brain ignore me."

"And it's not about being the fool... wait, are you calling me a fool?" He frowned a little, but he didn't look too upset. "I gave you that drink, least you can be is a little nice."

Bert smiled up at his new friend with only the thinnest amount of sincerity. He was messing around and he didn't care who knew it.
"I am being a little nice. A meaner me would have called you a fool straight out. But I wasn't lying when I said I am the bigger fool here. 'Tis a heavy burden to carry but I do what I must."
no subject
"So, bigger fool, why are you out here drinking?" Figuring he didn't want to delve into his own reason too much, it was probably better to poke his companion's instead.

"If a man cannot find excitement in a saloon he won't find it at all. I was finding fair little excitement wandering the streets, so I did the next best thing."
