Lindsey didn't realize it at first. Hey, tributes had their own lives, even District mates and buddies who he saw on a regular basis, Gabriel could've hidden himself to get depressed over dying. Lindsey would've understood. Given, he had a better idea of how to get over it in mind, but he would need to find the angel first.

But Gabriel never showed up.

And after a few days of waiting, even after the victor was determined, Lindsey realized that Gabriel was gone.

Just fucking great, every time he got close to someone, made a friend, hell, even forgave an old one enough to maybe consider they could be buddies again, they became Gone. Way to go, Captitol, Panem, or whoever determined things like this. That was why Lindsey found himself some random bar and got drunk.

Cuthbert drank the last of his glass and set it down for a refill. He wouldn't be upset if he didn't get it, but if he was going to wander into a bar he was clearly already out to push his luck.

"If a man cannot find excitement in a saloon he won't find it at all. I was finding fair little excitement wandering the streets, so I did the next best thing."

"I thought we get plenty of excitement in those arenas already, or is murder and mayhem not exciting enough for you?" Lindsey looked down at the glass, up at the bold kid, then shrugging, poured another measure of his good whiskey into the glass. Might as well keep his companion while he had one.
