Victory Tour!
Most of you weren't around the last time District tours were allowed. The opulence of the train is just as great however. It is plush, full of the same comforts and pleasures as the Capitol. Dining, entertainment centers, and shared rooms for the Tributes, the bunk beds featuring the finest of fabrics. The wide windows all around the train give way to the stunning views of the District countrysides.
Before the quell, it used to be that only the Victors of the arena would behold such sights, but you Tributes, the survivors of the fifteenth arena of the seventy fifth quarter quell are very lucky indeed. It will be a greater pageant than ever before, with so many Tributes getting the chance to speak to the Districts their children were reaped from, where you stand and the children stand no longer. The honor, duty, and sacrifice a Tribute's life involves cannot be understated.
Staff and Mentors are, of course, brought along for the ride. You'll need them for when you are to give your speech to the Districts! There will be a lot of preparation work involved, but maybe, should you do well, you will be afforded some time to travel between the cars and visit those of other Districts.
As always, the tour will be starting in District twelve, which will take just over forty eight hours to reach. There's no need to feel unsafe. There's an overwhelming number of Peacekeepers on board, here to keep you all safe, as will there be in each of the Districts you visit.
Sleep tight.

"Fine, let's just get moving. I'll bring you out then come back for the others." One or two extractions at a time, that's what was in the briefing. Otherwise they risk being left behind themselves. There's only a small window for a surprise strike like this until the Peacekeeper get their footing and start fighting back effectively.
He shouldn't promise what Phil is asking. It's not something he can keep, and would result in the exact same thing that lead him to punch Panem's Bucky in the face when he'd first arrived in Thirteen. It will probably delay them if he answers honestly, but he can't do that to another person. He'll pick Phil up and carry him if he has to, but he's not going to lie to him.
"No one's safe in Panem, but the faster we go, the more likely we can keep them out of immediate harm." He looks out the door, tracking with his rifle to make sure they're clear for escape and trusting - hoping - that those words are enough to get Phil moving.

"L-Let's go...how much time do we have left?" he asked as he hurried to his rescuer's side, grabbing a knife along the way for extra protection. Boy is he going to get a crash course in District 13.

Albert's about to answer but before he has the chance, the door of the car across the coupling explodes in a shower of sparks. The cyborg flattens himself against the wall and throws his arm out to make sure Phil is doing the same.
"None." He fires into the haze before the smoke even clears from the blown-out door. "Find another way out!"

By the way Foxy's paws scratched desperately against the door, the creature could smell freedom and trees through this way. Might be our only way out unless someone sprouts wings or something, Phone Guy thought, grabbing the nearest scrap to break the glass shield. Gray wasn't the strongest mentor in the lot but he gave the lever the old college try.
"Albert! Over here! Stop shooting and help me with this!" he called out, hoping that in leaving this door open, others would follow

Gun swung across his shoulder, Albert moves away to join Phil, walking backwards and keeping a watchful eye on the door until he actually reaches PG's side. The door starts thumping almost as soon as he turns to emergency exit lock, protective glass already shattered. Albert's mind runs through scenarios at lightning speed. They could be watching the exit this opens up, knowing the train better than any of the rebels, but it's unlikely considering the other insurgents attacking each part of the train, all intent on grabbing their targets and getting the hell out of dodge. There's still enough chaos that it's a relatively safe bet that they won't have anyone waiting specifically to shoot them in the head the second they poke it out of the train.
Relatively.
Without preamble, Albert reaches over the helps to slam the release from closed to open with little strain. His cybernetics may not be as strong as his originals, but they're at least as strong as peak human, and to use them for something the Capitol wouldn't approve of is definitely a perk.

He had no shame in finding the nearest blind spot and hid while staying perfectly still, it's what helped him survive Freddy's after all. He didn't want to go back to the Capitol, he just...couldn't. But he didn't want to leave his friends behind either.
"A-Albert?" a frightened edge took over Phone Guy's voice, a quiver in an already terrified voice. He damn sure that if he died here...that was it.

It suits him, though. Especially when it gives him the chance to fire off a shot into one of the Peacekeepers that had gotten a bead on Phil's retreating back and was kneeling to fire. Instead its the Peacekeeper that hits the dirt, causing his partner to whirl in place to find the new threat.
He finds it just a moment too late, crimson blossoming across his brilliant white chestplate as he goes down.
Rifle still in his hands but pointed to the ground, Albert sprints the rest of the way to the trees before they're spotted again in the chaos, shots and screams and smoke all rising from the stationary train tethered to its tracks. He hopes to whoever may be listening that everyone else makes it out safe, that the Tributes are recovered to Thirteen and the Capitol has no one left to murder paradoxically in the name of peace.
He hopes, but he doesn't expect.
With the quiver of PG's voice as a guide, Albert finds a spot near him with relative ease. "We've got to keep moving. We'll wind through the woods and end up at the rendezvous point. Stay close."

He knows that the Capitolites will paint him a coward, and do their damnedest to slander his name and work. But he has to keep going, head down and following Albert into the woods.
I will get you all safe and sound somehow. And we can watch the Capitol burn like Freddy Fazbear's did, this was a promise Phone Guy intended to keep. For Venus, for his Tributes, for his friends, and for himself. Goddamn, did he miss the power of choice.
Lemme know if you don't want the convo to go this way and I can edit.
Once he's deemed that they're far enough away and are not being followed, Albert adjusts his direction towards where he's been told to meet the rest of the rebels and relaxes visibly, if only a small amount. He tears his mind from the danger they're still potentially in if he's missed something (though he's sure he hasn't) and how his friends and family are fairing and instead to what Phil may be thinking. Finally, he settles on something to actually say. More than 15 minutes later, but still.
"I know you were worried the last time we could get word to the Capitol, but Venus did turn up. She's alright."
this is fine! [sits in fire]
Venus was alive.
"S-She did? Sh-she's safe? Oh my God..." he stuttered, as if he couldn't believe that after all this time, after wishing every night that she was somewhere safe and sound, that one wish came true. A spark came back to Phone Guy's eyes as he could dare hope that everything would be all right. Even Foxy recognized the name and made a muffled bark in vulpine happiness: he remembered her too.
"In Thirteen, right?"
no subject
"She's been throwing herself into things with abandon. Perhaps you can get her to calm down a little."
no subject
He was of the firm belief that Venus was either dead or had found someone else wherever she was. He still felt love for her but maybe...Nope, time to be a man and stand up. If Venus was being rash to the point that it bothered a man that was this hardened, something was deeply wrong.
"Why is she doing it? I know that this is the chance to fight back, and for that I'm grateful because this is part of that effort," he asked, concerned that Venus was seeking thrills or worse.
no subject
"If I had to guess, it's because she feels she has something to prove."
no subject
It was hint enough that Gray had followed Venus's history in Panem and how broken she was. He loves her because of and in spite that: he loves the perfect mask and the woman underneath it. "She doesn't have to prove to anyone she's strong enough, her getting up and doing what needs to be done is proof enough that she can carry herself and everything that's happened in her life."
no subject
He eyes Phil, hoping he's not reading the depths of the man's affection as far deeper than they are. "Perhaps you can give her a reason to live, as opposed to a cause to die for."
no subject
Doubts seemed to evaporate as soon as they came in, the old Phone Guy had to grow up and realize that he didn't solve anything by punishing himself. "Oh heck does it matter? I-I'll try and talk sense into her, She's smart and crafty but maybe she needs someone to tell her to stand down, take a breather and let someone else take the charge."
That's the unconditional love Phil had for Venus: to cheer her on but also stand his ground, even if she got mad or disappointed.
no subject
"Good. She won't listen to me, but two voices are louder than one and harder to ignore."
no subject
Snow broke his promise to the Districts by reaping their children once more and now to his fellow Capitolites by sending one of their own to the bloodbath. Their escape vehicle would be there and Gray wouldn't argue about it.
