Unexpected turn of events
Who | Pruna and anyone
What | The kid wakes up from death and... freaks a little because despite the many hints she hadn't quite got the memo that death isn't permanent. She proceeds to have a tantrum
Where | Her room on the twelfth floor but mostly the tribute lounge
When | Once she is released into the capitol
Warnings/Notes | Mentions of death, also she is quite angry and may lash out, but obviously isn't armed. Let me know if that's okay or not though!
The girls first response to waking up in the clean sterile room was to scream. Loudly. She had died, for real, it had hurt. Yet now nothing hurt, her foot was fine, her arm no longer burned, she wasn't even hungry. So she screamed and she struggled and demanded answers until she worked out that she would be kept in this room until she was calm.
So she grasped out and found the emptiness, it was hard because she was so confused but she managed it. Clinging onto it, barring out all the emotions and locking them away from her. Eyes blank she managed to convince them that she was calm.
She wasn't though, they had told her that she had been brought back, so she could fight again. That she would have to go into one of those arenas again. And try and live all over again, they had ignored her demands to be sent back home to her sister.
The moment she was safely in her room she dropped the emptiness. She tried to do it slowly, to let the emotions in one by one but she really wasn't that good at it yet and she slipped, letting the rage and fear swarm back into her, sweeping her away with it.
She screamed again and kicked the wardrobe, pulled the sheets off the bed, punched the mattress, threw her shoes at the wall. Mindless destruction, the room she had found so pretty when she had arrived now being a symbol of her captivity.
She didn't really want to be dead, but she didn't want to be here either, she had hoped that in her next rebirth she would manage not to be kidnapped by another world.
She just wanted to see her sister again. It wasn't fair, she didn't want to be in this stupid place.
She threw things around a bit longer before storming out her room and down the stairs, kicking walls as she went.
She was planning on just storming out of the building, on seeing how far she could get because surely this stupid city had to end somewhere and even if she couldn't get to her own world somewhere had to be better than here.
But as she marched through the lounge she stopped in her tracks. In the day or two before she had been sent to the arena she had seen a lot of strange things, and not understood them all, or taken it all in.
So she stared at the... well it was moving, and she recognised that place... she had just come from there, and she had seen some of those people. She marched over, kicking any pieces of furniture she passed on the way and began to examine it, trying to look behind, how was it seeing the arena and why was it seeing the arena...

No worries. I'm just surprised Sandy turned things around. I had not predicted that.
"Too bad they probably heard all of this and know just how much we HATE them." She shouted into what she thought might be a hidden microphone hoping to deafen someone.
pfft I have no idea how she managed it, but hopefully it sticks
She tilted her head at Sandy. "Does your power be working now?"

Climbing down from the table she contemplated simply smashing the lamp to feel better. "Stupid technology."

"We'll figure something out. It's just like playing a game on the hardest difficulty."

She didn't understand Sandy's words but nodded anyways. "We will be, we do just be needing a plan and to be being smart about it."

"Most of the smarter people I've talked to said the best course of action is to gather information. The more we know about this place and the people in charge, the more we can use against them." She explained thinking back to Diana, Blaine, and even Sherlock.

"Better then I am at fighting." She promised. She was fast, small and quiet when she needed to be.

"Do we be being allowed there or will we have to be sneaking in?"
no subject
"We're allowed. We can even check out books and discs if we want. Stuff we can watch on that." She pointed at the TV.
"Like videos of older games." Her face fell a little. "It's a good way to see how other people won. But it's not that helpful in you know...revenge."

She wrinkled her nose, "It could be being useful though, it can be telling us what they might be trying as well, like those fireworks."
I will pay for the rest of her icons soon I swear
Almost intoxicating.
"Come on, no sense in waiting. And on the way back we can get some ice cream. There's a place near the library, you'll love it." She ran over to the sofa to put on her sneakers and lace them up so they could leave.

"Ice cream is...well it's what it sounds like. Just trust me you'll love it." She went for the door and led Pruna out of it.
"Seriously, I get that you're not big on trust but when it comes to Ice Cream? You'll be glad you did." She grinned encouragingly.

So she followed, a little suspicious but prepared to try something new.

At least Pruna got to see the wonders of a modern library.
And now for the part Sandy had been looking forward to. She held open the door to a stylish Ice cream parlor done in pastel colors with animal shaped booths and checkered floors.
"OK So see the stuff up there?" She explained pointing at the wall where a list of foods had been written.
"Those are flavors. You can ask for just one, or mix a couple together. Then right there..." She pointed to another list of things that were probably also foods. "Those are candies and cookies and fruit and stuff that you can have them mix into the Ice cream." She paused to see if she was explaining it properly.

Most of it was stupid and about love, which wasn't very helpful, because love wasn't going to win anything. They must have done something really clever.
She tried not to stare at the library, and the city, and all the technology she saw around them. But she couldn't help it, everything was so strange.
She followed Sandy into the ice cream parlor and looked around in amazement. She read the words on the wall, not knowing them all but recognising enough and then stared at the other list, then went over to the counter and peered through the glass.
"Do that be being the ice cream?" She asked wrinkling her nose at the tubs of brightly coloured food.

It felt good to be on higher ground...so to speak, then Pruna. Her understanding of the city and how it ran gave her a little more confidence. Enough she could ignore how much the girl seemed to loath so much.
Sandy waved to get the clerks attention and ordered a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter and marshmallows. Then she ushered Pruna over to where she could watch the clerk prepare the dish. Scooping out large balls of dark brown cream and mashing it against a cold rock. He took a jar of a lighter brown spread and threw a dollop of it onto the cream. Then some small white pellets. When he mashed the entire thing together it became a gooey mess that he then transferred to a large cone and passed to Sandy who paid him casually and turned her back on him to inspect the treat.
With a lick she sighed and smiled "One of the only good things about this place is the food." She said not for the first time that day. Then offered the cone to Pruna to try.

She took it just as suspiciously, but Sandy had tried it and seemed okay. She had no idea how to eat it but copied Sandy's example and stuck her tongue out, poking the ice cream.
It was cold! So cold it made her tongue tingle and she snapped her mouth shut right away glaring at the cone. She had never felt anything so cold in her life!
But she wasn't going to let a thing stop her, and she didn't think Sandy to think she was scared, so cautiously she stuck her tongue out again and licked the ice cream, actually getting some flavour past the coldness this time.
Her eyes widened, she couldn't even describe the taste! It wasn't like anything she had ever had before but it was wonderful.
"I do be wanting one too!"

...except there were some gawkers starting to gather. Peering into the shop window and slipping through the door to stare and whisper about the two tributes they had all seen die on TV not too long before.
