The Victor is...

Who| EVERYONE. IC participation is mandatory (OOC is not, you may handwave)
What| Momoko's victory crowning
Where| The ball room
When| The Wednesday before the next arena.
Warnings/Notes| None atm.

The party was styled for Momoko.

The tables were covered in lace, delicate dishes and silverware, flowers that fell from vases covered in Victorian paintings. It was the most extravagant tea party to ever be thrown, with tiny, thin china cups and a too many tiny little finger foods being passed around to count. The ballroom has been styled in extravagant Baroque, as the Capitol was fairly liberal with their adaption of historical time periods.

The costumes were just as liberally chosen, from tall, powdered wigs holding birdcages with live birds, clearly hailing in the style of Marie Antoinette to regency gowns gathered under daringly (and occasionally outright) exposed busts to tight corsets and the skeletons of skirts exposed and decorated. A quarter played live music at one end of the room, before a wide dance floor.

At the head of the room there was a long table with a throne for Momoko, as elaborate as anything else in the room. And along the long table, group close to those who they seemed to enjoy, was a place for many of the Tributes, with a small place card that said "Special guest of The Capitol." This table was fed first, received drinks first, and was clearly favored.

Any Tributes not seated at the long table with their peers were dispersed among the the smaller table spread about the room, left to rub elbows with the guests invited from the Capitol, and the reporters covering the event. Security was, if anything, tighter than the last crowning.

These people have seats a the big kids table. You guys are free to decide who sits by who (And if three people sit by one person, don't worry too much about it) but they are, when possible set by their friends:

"I know," said Momoko simply. It was obvious. Momoko would have thought Lottie stupid to not be jealous. "I think it helped that it was an easy Arena, really. Most people spent their time trying to stay warm." She stiffened, suddenly remembering Lottie's death, which was anything but easy. She was hit with a rare sensation of awkwardness.

"Not everyone, of course," she added weakly.
needsaprince: (This isn't how this story goes.)

Lottie shrugged, trying not to look to caught up in it. In truth, that death had been the hardest so far.

Right when you thought you were getting used to things...

"At least death meant coming home to a nice, hot bath."

"Oh, yes." She sighed, remembering the feeling of being warm again. "Getting to be clean again after weeks in a forest or tundra or wherever--you'd think they could have put us someplace with showers, just once. Or hot springs, maybe." That was best, to just think about the minor annoyances.
needsaprince: (Wut just happened.)

"Well, the tropical island wasn't too bad." She said, shrugging. "But I suppose it's not very fun to watch us loungue around and enjoy ourselves."

She scowled, dumping another sugar cube into her tea.

Not too entertaining for the Capitol, maybe.
cowardfacinghappiness: Momoko pouting childishly. (Pout)

"They never asked," Momoko pointed out with a sniff. "If they wanted, we could make it entertaining. We could make anything entertaining if it meant not having to do an Arena, I'm sure. Like, a beauty pageant, that would be better."
needsaprince: (Why yes I am the perfect princes bride.)

"Oh, I would love a beauty pageant!"

Lottie was, not surprisingly, a huge fan of beauty pageants. She had been eyeing that new Miss America at home, though clearly that wouldn't be happening anytime soon.

"Yes!" Momoko said, waving her fork for emphasis. "And I could be your manager! I'm very good, I'd be way better than any Escort. It would be perfect, and entertaining, and nobody would have to die!"
needsaprince: (Blissed out.)

(Did you wanna continue or handwave this?))

It's been awhile so we can just handwave that they discussed beauty pageant strategies for the rest of the meal, that's fine with me.
