[closed] to drink and be merry, to teach and to learn, hiccuping together

Who: The Iron Bull & Cole
What: Cole's looking for Bull and finds him where any one of the Inquisition usually would - the bar
When: Night before Crowning
Where: The bar
Warnings: Drinking, lewd topics possibly, tba

What did this place have to offer, exactly, other than replays of the same gruesome scenes in those moving picture boxes? Did this place, the Capitol, have anything hard and strong that could kill the nerves in ones' throat on the first swallow? Did it have something that could kill the grass if it were spilled?

The Iron Bull was currently on the look out for it. His place of sitting and hanging out back in Skyhold was mostly the tavern. Surely this Capitol had one of those nearby?

He had lumbered through the streets ignoring most of the stares unless it was to pause and ask for directions, trying to help one of the natives understand that he was looking for a tavern and ended up in the nearest bar to where every Tribute was staying. Bar, tavern - it was good enough. He wouldn't complain about the music or settlement, as long as there was drink there and, hopefully, a redhead or two to keep him entertained.

In the corner near the back, slumped comfortably on the cushioned chair, legs out and relaxed in front of him, that was where he could be found. The drink in his hand was disappointing to say the least, probably why it was his seventh so far since entering the building.

One thing he did miss - the soft tones of the bard woman who sang her songs in the tavern in Skyhold, the music here so far held nothing to light. This, to his ears, was crap, and was why his grimace of distaste was hidden behind the cup as he brought it up to drink, grumbling all the while.

Cole is making the rounds. This is what he does, and it doesn't change just because he's human now. He makes the rounds and he looks after his friends. Dorian is very angry these days, it radiates off of him as plain as day. Cullen doesn't sleep much, he can see it in the darkness under his eyes. Cassandra feels as indomitable as always, but he wonders if she's afraid. He doesn't know how to help much, these days. But he tries.

The Iron Bull is no exception, and this time, Cole knows exactly where to find him. Even at the back of the bar, he stands out, and when he approaches he takes the seat next to him.

"Do you not like it, The Iron Bull? I thought drinking alcohol was something you enjoyed," but maybe it's because he doesn't have anyone to drink with. Maybe he's lonely.

It is kind of a mouthful. The words don't flow well together, they make him feel as if he's addressing a thing and not a person, but that's how Bull wants it. But he says the full name because it's the name he chose, and that's important. It means something.

Cole still thinks the Iron Dragon would have been better, though.

He considers the offer for a moment, leaning over to peer into the glass. "Eating is...complicated. I'm only just getting used to it. Is drinking part of being human as well?"

if it is, then he'll give it a shot.

He'll take a sip because it's Iron Bull that's offering it to him, and he trusts him almost implicitly. Not that Cole's really the suspicious type to begin with, but Bull has a special place in his mind as one of his friends. He takes a sip, and it burns going down. He coughs a little bit, spluttering.

"It burns, it's...like liquid fire. Why do you drink this, The Iron Bull?"
