Diana was...unhappy, if the understatement could be forgiven. Taken from her bed, stripped of her powers, tossed into this world where she was meant to fight and kill for the entertainment of the ruling class...

Well, she was familiar with concept, obviously, but that didn't mean she liked it. And she liked even less what little she'd understood of the situation, of the history, before she'd been ushered to her quarters. As soon as she was left alone she was off, exploring the building, the city, anywhere she was allowed to go in search of answers. Of a crack in the prison walls.

The woman looked unhappy, and also unlike most of the population of the city. This led Diana to believe she was a fellow Tribute, which would certainly explain the unhappiness. It was a mixture of concern and a desire for answers that moved Diana to the woman's side.

"Is this seat taken?" she asked, indicating one nearby. She looked over the woman surreptitiously as she did so. The other didn't much look like a fighter, but appearances could be deceiving, and regardless, nobody should be forced to fight against their will, no matter their skill.

Holiday could handle her own, but she was by far not a fighter. It didn't mean that she couldn't handle a weapon or kick someone around, at least.

She looked over to the woman, shaking her head. "No, it's not." Not many people went out of their way to talk to anyone else around here, but Holiday didn't mind being ignored or being bothered during this time.

"Thank you." Diana smiled gratefully, and sat down. "I'm used to big cities, but I must admit I find this place overwhelming," she remarked casually, a quiet observation. Something the woman could see as an invitation to a conversation or something she could politely ignore.

Holiday didn't mind conversation. It was a nice distraction. "I'm used to them, too, even some this big, but everything about this place is overwhelming. Especially the arena."

Then again, the fashion sense around here was a close second.

"Yes," said Diana softly. "I can imagine. Calculated to overwhelm and distract, from what I understand."

Oh, it's all right!

"Same. It's the what from that I'm worried about."

"Ways out, would me by first guess. How to fight back, discontent in the population, that sort of thing. It's a common tactic in dictatorships. Bread and circuses," she said, her lips tilting up wryly. She wondered if the name of the country was a purposeful reference or a happy accident.

"That's true... I just hope this is nothing more than a power grab."

"The Quell, you mean? It certainly feels like desperation. To risk bringing in so many new people who haven't had a life to become accustomed to the Games...surely there must have been better responses to a minor rebellion than this."

"It's hard to say if it's as minor as we've heard."

Diana looked at her curiously. "Have you reason to suspect otherwise?" If there was any hint of an ongoing rebellion, people fighting back, Diana wanted to know about it. Wanted to join.

"No... Not really... I almost wish I did, though. I just can't see every single person here taking this in stride."

Probably dangerous to say and she knew it, but what could they do? Kill her for good?

"I can't see it either," she said firmly. "They must simply be accustomed to concealing themselves."

"... Probably the smart thing."
