She was not looking forward to tonight. Apparently, she was going on a "date".

Unlike certain other Tributes' dates, however, this one was a play-date. Some rich person wanted some photo ops with her and their son, so Chibi-Usa was suddenly brought to her stylists and shoved into a adorable dress that the citizen wanted to see her in. They did her hair as well, spraying the rose curl braids in her hair red and black to match her dress.

It felt gross. Being hocked off to kids for publicity, especially when she had a real boyfriend back home. With an annoyed flop, she sat in one of the main lounge chairs, looking sulky and dejected. Yeah, she knew she'd have to play the part of a smiling, happy girl when her "date" arrived; princesses knew how to schmooze with the best of them. And she had to admit, she liked the dress.

She just really hope they didn't poison her food too.

"Aah, Artemis is Diana's dad." Chibi-Usa nodded. "He gets teased a lot by Minako about his name...Minako's his owner."

...though she of course omitted the part where Artemis would protest such unfair treatment from Minako and how Minako did not 'own' him. And the naming theme would be a...well, it would be an understatement at the least that there was a common theme in the names.

"Yeah. You know Japanese?"

"I think I rather like your family's choice of names, Little Bunny," said Diana. "I'm sorry, Chibi-Usa, I mean. I know a little Japanese. I like languages, but I haven't really had as much time to study as I used to. And now, of course, I am here. Is that where you're from, Japan?" Where was Japan in relation to here? It felt like the US, in more ways than one, definitely Western at least, but other than that, she couldn't pin it down yet.

"Yeah." She nodded. "Tokyo."

Well, technically. It used to be Tokyo.

"Tokyo. A beautiful city," she said with a smile. "How did you come to be in Panem?"

"...I got kidnapped. But everyone did, I think."

Diana hesitated before continuing. "I see." She'd been assuming, hoping, the girl was simply a young member of the society here, perhaps immigrated from Japan, or visiting. A vain hope, it appeared. "Yes, I'm in the same boat myself. Not to best way to encourage tourism."

"Yeah. It's not fun at all." She quietly swung her feet back and forth. "I don't like this place at all."

"No, no I can't say I do either," said Diana softly. She hesitated, then reached out to put her hand on Chibi-Usa's, lightly, so she didn't feel confined. "I think your family would be very proud, to see how brave you are being."

Aah. Her family. Tears began to sting her eyes.

"...I don't want to be brave in this place." With her other hand, Chibi-Usa wiped her eyes. "I want to be back home with my family."

"Me too," Diana admitted. For a moment she looked unbearably sad. She had only just gotten her family, it seemed, before one crisis and another dragged her away again. She breathed deep and turned to Chibi-Usa. "So we'll just have to make that happen, won't we?"

"I hope we can." Chibi-Usa wiped her eyes. "I don't want my mom or dad to have to come here..."

"I'm sure of it," Diana assured her. She gave off her usual air of boundless confidence, though she felt somewhat uneasy, making such promises automatically, still knowing so little about the society here. "It won't come to that."
