OPEN Valentine's Day Plot

WHO | Everyone
WHAT | Baron sends Valentine's Day gifts to Tribute Tower.
WHEN | Valentine's Day!
WHERE | Tribute Tower
WARNINGS / NOTES | Warnings for drug use and all of the things that go with that. Possibly also sexual themes. The OOC post for this is here.

On the morning of February 14th when the Tributes come down for breakfast they're greeted by an impressive holiday themed spread. Pink and red baked goods, chocolates shaped like hearts, beautiful red and pink flowers, adorable stuffed animals all line the table.

On the table is also a sign in cursive that reads:

To our beloved Tributes, Victors, Mentors, Escorts and Stylists. Enjoy your holiday. -- Bartlett Industries

Most of the sweets are completely harmless, but if the Tributes taste the chocolate covered cherries or caramels they find themselves suddenly acting very strangely...

cute bomb incoming; survival chances minimal

Kyle had certainly been touchy-feely then, but he was perhaps even worse now. 18 years of solitude had bottled up so much - and even 4 years with Akane (who had still been reserved, although loving) had not fully eliminated that loneliness from his system. Akane had become his most important person, and her death - the second he remembered her - had hurt that sensitive spot inside of him she'd helped to foster, in her own way.

Of course, this soft spot - perhaps a tad needy for touch - was content with entangling with Sigma. Even if there wasn't reciprocation, it was being put up with - and that was enough. Reciprocation would have pleased Kyle more then anything - although, he could settle for the other leaning into him and sounding downright pleased to be there. He purred a bit more, hands shifting to properly hold his father against him - like a child cuddling his favorite doll. (Perhaps Sigma had seen that, once, on the security cameras? Kyle had always loved that bunny doll. Maybe that was why he was much more okay with Lagomorph as a teacher, in comparison to Luna.)

He couldn't resist a chuckle in his father's ear at the puns, either. It was a bit more childish then it should have been, but Kyle had never quite managed to be either a child or an adult. "Sweets, insofar as I am able to tell!" Wordiness was a habit he'd never broken, and he wasn't about to start just because he felt great. "Candies, fruits, chocolates... They are all quite delicious!" Another pleased rumble from Kyle - oh man, Sigma. He apparently had quite the sweet tooth - that chocolate cake back when he was younger? He was obviously significantly even more pleased now. If he tried something delicious that wasn't rations, he might positively shit himself.

There's a decisive pause - K is in a great mood, after all. Sigma's puns weren't missed, and Kyle is much too pleased with himself to quite have a sense of dignity at the moment - Also, this was the most hilarious idea, to K. "Ah, I suppose you could say I cat nyant believe how delicious they are!"

K. K, no.

K, stop.

No K. Bad K. No.

Father, are you more proud of him yet. Even if he just stole two of your puns.

In a sudden and uncharacteristic bout of joy, Sigma began to laugh. This was probably the happiest that he had ever seen Kyle, and felt strangely pleased that Kyle was comfortable enough to hug him. The cat puns in particular amused him, though he hoped they wouldn't become an uncontrollable tic, as his had.

Something washed over him then, a tranquil and unguarded feeling. It washed away the crippling awkwardness he had picked up from a life spent in solitude; what was more, he had no control over the actions that followed. "Listen to you! You are definitely my son!" Sigma exclaimed carelessly - thankfully there were few around to hear - and at last curled his arms around him. It was reminiscent of the bear hug he'd given him 45 years ago, though it was not so long ago for Kyle.

What a sight they must be! An old man and a college-age boy hugging in public. "It is Valentine's Day," Sigma explained patiently, relaxing his hold somewhat. He wasn't sure if the topic had been breached by his childhood storybooks. "You are supposed to give chocolates to the people you care for. That is why there are so many sweets about." He hoped Kyle was careful enough to not make himself ill on them.
