There's a loud, attention grabbing rapping at Eponine's door.

Diana stands there, what appears to be a pillowcase stuffed with many different objects judging from it's lumpiness in one hand, the other balancing 4 large drinks in a cup holder.

She must have knocked by kicking the door.

"Hey Eppy...nine." She greets her when the door opens, eyes sweeping over the other girl. Only just correcting herself so as not to irritate Eponine too early.

Diana wears casual clothes but looks good anyway, as usual. Those maroon jeggings hug her shapely legs and her thick hair is pulled to one side and plaited into a messy braid that frames her pretty face. Even if it looks as though she's only done it to keep it out of the way it's attractive.

"You gonna let me in? Because this is heavy and I'm not balancing all this for shits and giggles." She jangles the pillowcase. "I brought food." She spoke as if this were the most tempting offer in the world, though, to be fair, to her it was.

"Well, technically I think the ship has sailed for both of us on that front."

The comb runs through smoother at the top now so she works on the knots at the bottom. "In fact, most of us probably."

"Has the Capitol made you...?" Eponine reaches up to stop Diana's hand. "Have they made you go with men I know some of us. I have... You also?"

Diana looks down at her. "No. I haven't. But that might be because Azula gets me alot of sponsors and looks after me so I don't have to worry about 'earning my keep' so to speak."

"You're friends with your mentor?" That's a foreign concept to Eponine. She and Jessica are uneasy allies at best, and the bane of one another's lives in reality. "My mentor gave me tuberculosis and that is about it. I don't think she likes me a great deal."

Diana can't hide the look of amusement. "Really? Your mentor gave you tuberculosis? The worst I have to worry about from Azula is catching mono and somehow I think even that's a stretch."

"What is Mono?" The reference is lost on Eponine. "But yes, Jessica coughs in my face to give me tuberculosis - on purpose, you mind, and then she throws me from the suites. I have been living in a bin until they destroyed District Three. Then the Peacekeeper picked me over his shoulder and brought me here. Those men I do not think keep peace at all. "

"Well, she sounds like a treat." Diana runs the comb through a couple times more, it slides down Eponine's hair with ease.

"Yeah, I think most of us have gotten that impression. But why didn't you just get a new room before that?" She starts to rinse the conditioner out, massaging Eponine's head as she does.

Diana is good at avoiding questions. But sometimes, there are questions that are better left unanswered and Eponine doesn't push her.

"They won't let me. I tried... They like that I live next to Marius. The people here, they like to see me miserable. That is my role in this place. To have bad things happen when things go well. " Eponine shrugs. "It is not nice, but Jessica, she is not so bad. Max is worse. He is horrible. He is the other mentor here."

"Sounds like you got a pretty shitty deal." She wrings Eponine's hair out then starts to rub it with the towel.

"Let's head back and blow dry this."

"I don't care any more." Eponine stands up, and picks her pillow up, and follows Diana into her bedroom again. "I have had enough of just having all these bad things. Me, I have decided to fight back now." Apparently, Diana's agenda was working.

Diana guides her back to the bed. Sitting her to finish towel drying most of the excess damp before picking up the hair dryer. "That's a better attitude. Submission won't get you very far."

"It keeps you alive." Eponine shouts over the hairdryer. But there's laughter in her voice. Perhaps she is in the mood to die a reckless death and perhaps do some good. Well, a little bit. Maybe. Or she will die with her Mama by her side anyway.

"But perhaps no. Perhaps I shall learn to fight for the next arena."

"That's the spirit." Diana smiles as she moves the hair dryer around, running her fingers through Eponine's hair and shaking it.

"Training's not so bad you know. Azula drags me down there and I have to say, I don't hate it."

"Yeah? I have never done exercise before." Not properly anyway. She's a good sprinter, is Eponine, but that is where her talents end.

"Are you such good friends with Azula then? Would she teach me also?"

"Never? Not even a little for the arenas? You've been here longer than me, don't you think it'd be helpful?" Diana pauses in moving the dryer. "My god, I sound like Azula..."

She shakes her head and picks up a brush to use as she dries. "Anyway, sorry, babe, I don't think so. She's pretty focused on our District. Home pride and all that crap."

Eponine shakes her head. "I were trying not to kill. I think - well, I think, what is the point of the arena? What if we all make a pact, not to fight. Then it is scuppered. The worst they can do is kill us, and they do that anyway, no? And then I think, if I do not fight, I can die and come back to the Capitol with food and a bed and drink - isn't it stupid to starve there when I can live so well here? Don't you see that it is all stupid? We could have put it down ages ago, but nobody listens to me. "

She shrugs. "'S alright. I don't need nobody's help."

"Mmmm." Diana nods in agreement, she can see where Eponine's coming from. But if it were that simple this wouldn't still be happening, would it? Yes, it'd be great if we could all make a pact and stand hand in hand refusing to harm one another, but the world isn't that perfectly delusional.

"Okay." She gives Eponine's hair a last brush through. "I think." She plumps some of the waves with her hands, tucking some strands into place. "We are done."

She gestures to the mirror. "What do you think?"

"Is that... Is it me?" Eponine's jaw drops at the sight of the girl in the mirror. Even with the familiar bags beneath her eyes, this girl looks completely different. Perhaps even a little bit pretty.

"Is it - Oh -" She turns around to hug Diana. "You've made me beautiful."

Diana pats Eponine's back a little awkwardly, the shift from mistrust to hugging in the space of a hair wash a little jarring. "I take it you like it then."

"I am never beautiful! But you have made me so. I am as beautiful as you. Perhaps more so."

Well no, not quite. But Eponine feels beautiful. She sits back from Diana. "Thank you. For... everything, Diana."

And Diana fights her amused look. "That's sweet, babe." Well, it's cute that she thought that for a moment. Wrong. But cute.

She pats Eponine's cheek. "The important thing is you're feeling more confident."

A stretch. "Can I crash here? We've not finished the food yet and I don't feel like lugging it all back to my room this late."

"I don't have so many blankets left..." Eponine points at the shreds on the floor. "I have torn them up. But if you do not mind only a pillow and a mattress..." She shrugs. She wants to go out and show off her pretty hair. But where can she go? Oh well. Perhaps nobody but her should notice anyway?

"It's fine. I've slept with worse." She snorts a little a her own joke then rummages in the pillow case, pulling out a piece of clothing and two cream eclairs in a plastic container.

"Here you go, Frenchy." She pushes the plastic into Eponine's hands. "Save one for me."

Diana steps off the bed and pulls her shirt up over her head, getting undressed.

"You don't call me Frenchy. I cannot even speak French no more." Eponine blushes as Diana begins to strip, and busies herself eating the eclair, carefully licking the cream that's spurted out along the edges of the bun.

"This is so delicious." She takes a tiny bite of the pastry, wanting to make the cake last as long as possible.

"You have more presents in your pillow?"

"Yeh, sure, just dig through." Diana says casually, dropping her shirt to the floor, more focused on reaching back and unclasping herself. "Mostly bags and boxes of junk food."

The bra lands ontop of the shirt and she flaps in a bored fashion over to the desk, more focused on unbuttoning the top of her maroon jeggings. "One of those last two drinks is for you too."

She slides them off, stepping out carelessly. "Just take whichever you think looks good."

Wandering over to the bed in her blue knickers, she buries her had back in the case until procuring her toothbrush and heading for the bathroom. "Be right back."
