He hates to weigh his worry on her, it's simply not in his nature. He's a leader, he's the hopeful one and the encouraging one. There was a time when an attitude like the one he has now would set off the temper of his old self quite quickly.

Sif, however, has seen all sides of him. Her comfort reaches him better than the comfort of anyone else and it earns her a sincere smile.

"You are good to me, Sif." He says with warmth, his lip twitching in a way that says he feels silly for needing the comfort. "We will do well together, I think. They've yet to comprehend the combined forces of Asgardian warriors."

But making the burden of worries easier to carry is what friends are for! She doesn't want him to feel as if he needs to keep things from her, which is perhaps a little hypocritical of her since there is plenty that she hides from him.

He has changed, but she loves the man he has become no less than the one he was. Tempered by grief and regret is her Thor now, not quite so wild and carefree. It is a good thing that he has learned caution, but it saddens her that the price for wisdom seems to be hos happiness. She can only hope that eventually he can find some balance in that, not to mention the hope she has that he will reconsider his choice to refuse the throne.

"When you cannot be good to yourself that burden falls to me, so lighten your spirits, I would like to get back to treating you poorly. It is a much more entertaining task."

She returns his smile, hoping that her gentle teasing will see it widen.

Thor would be prouder than Sif may be aware to know that she sees the change in him. He has striven ever since being banished to Midgard to learn from his mistakes, to right-wrongs and grow from his experiences rather than burdening his friends and family with his foolishness. It's been an uphill battle, but at the very least he can say with certainty that the person he was a few years ago would do no better here than he is now. It pains him to live this way, but it protects his friends.

"Then we shall dwell on it no longer." His smile warms at her words and he cannot help but feel grateful for her. His hand moves to the crook of her shoulder and neck to keep a steady, comforting grip of her. "It is good to see you, regardless of the circumstances. We will do great things together, I'm sure of it."
