She was apparently talking about herself in third person and it seemed like she might have had a conversation about species with Joel, it seemed like a reasonable assumption for him to make!
"All right, let's see if we can find Joel." Lyle glanced around, hoping that his superior-to-Chibi-Usa's height might grant him an advantage to finding the man in question.

Chibi-Usa tilts her head looking really confused.
"Okay." This really does seem to feel a lot more relieved at the thought of finding Joel, after all he did say that if she ever needed him she should find him.
