Looking at hand momentarily, she looks up at him then takes his hand shuffling closer to him.

"Thank you. It's just..."

She looks around looking apprehensive.

"Prince's are meant to protect the innocent, right?"

He winds his hand around her and lets her shuffle closer, smiling warmly down at her as he starts to walk toward the cafe he mentioned. She's a perfectly polite young lady, but he can't help cringing inwardly at that question.

"We do what we can." He answers, just a little curtly. "It's a little different from a faraway kingdom, here."

The young girl holds his hand a little tighter, giving him a hopeful smile. One that clearly shows how much she's trusting Hans with her safety.

"You don't like it here either, huh?"

Chibi-Usa of course assumes that's why he's sounding so curt.

"Not particularly, no." He does his best to smile back whilst also answering her question with the solemn expression it deserves. Truthfully, he doesn't mind it too much, but he would never admit that to anyone.

"You can adjust, though. You make friends and you'll learn a lot about different worlds." He offers, trying to get her onto a lighter subject. "There are people from all different planets, different points in time too. I'm from the past myself."

"Wow, really? You're from the past?"

As kind of commonplace as it was for Chibi-Usa to jaunt to and from two destinations in her families timeline. She hadn't heard of other people coming from different times. Well, not anyone who didn't have grudges on her family in someway at least. Which she was at least sure that Hans wasn't one of them, mostly because he didn't try to grab her or kill her on sight.

"Are you also from a different world too? Or is it the same?"

[hanssome]

"Mmh." He nods, with just a little forced enthusiasm. He's had to talk about this a lot, but he's sure a child would find it very interesting. More interesting than it already is to adults.

"I'm from long ago, before communicators and electricity and all sorts of things." He chuckles as he considers it. "I think most of us are from different worlds unless we happen to recognise one or two people." He shrugs, approaching the counter of the little indoor cafe and ordering quickly, sure to ask for extra marshmallows for the both of them.

"Wow." She says with an exhale as she thinks about how it would be to live in a world without electricity. Because after all she didn't really have communicators. At least, not like what was here, at most all she had was Luna-P so she could talk to Puu when she was first in her own past.

"So. Does that mean you didn't have cars either? Did you have a horse?" Well she's 8, of course she's going to think about cute things like horses.

"It's kind of nice then to know that you're not the only one who's alone then. If everyone comes here alone."

Because even if they meet up with friends later, Chibi-Usa finds a weird sense of solidarity that no one was brought in as a group.

"No, no cars. Carriages and of course horses." He can't help smiling fondly at her question, even if the tiniest part of him is suddenly struck with nostalgia and a little bitterness. "I do, actually. His name is Sitron and he's tan with black locks in his mane, he was a very good friend of mine." He chuckles, though for once that wasn't a complete lie. When he didn't have anyone else, he had Sitron, even if the damn thing belted off in the middle of a fight. "You'd definitely get along with him, but he gets along well with most people, even if he is a little skittish."
