Thor doesn't want to admit that time flies, he questions himself when he tells Bruce how long it has been. Between Arenas, the destruction of districts, the torture and murder of countless people and ridiculous parties with ballpits and sprinkles its been a while since he considered just how long he'd been here.

"A peacekeeper. They made a personal example of several capitol citizens and a tribute not long ago, it follows the destruction of an entire district." He answers with a grim expression. "Such a thing seems unheard of, if the reaction is any evidence."

"An entire district?" Bruce had the chance to read through what little history was available in the books already on his floor, and he had read what was surely a highly skewed retelling of the origin of the Hunger Games, but... "They already destroyed District 13, didn't they? Which one have they just destroyed?" Even though he had only just found out any of them existed, he was very uncomfortable with the idea of a civilization wiping out an entire settlement of people just as an example.

"What happened to provoke any of that?" If the murdered peacekeeper was behind that idea, he really wasn't going to be feeling sorry for their death.

"They did, many years ago. In recent months, rebellion was apparent and a sickness had swept through the nation and districts. Three closed it's doors for its own safety and they were punished with fire and death." He spits out those words, trying his very best not to let the rage show. His calm is more rewarding than his anger, right now.

"Rebellion is the cause of all I have named. They make swift examples of those who would oppose them." He brings his wrist upward so he can graze over it with his other hand idly, looking for a distraction from the desire to punch some walls. "I hold little hope for the tributes they have taken today." A small pause. "You must be careful."

"So District Three has been destroyed." That was the district whose main product was electronics, if he remembers right. That was his district, apparently. It's unsettling to think of all of those people dead, just because they were trying to stay safe.

"You know me. I'm great at being careful." That may or may not have been sarcastic. Bruce takes his glasses off and starts to finger them, giving himself something to do. "Do you know anyone who was taken?" Because he doesn't have any faith that they'll be kept alive either.

"So they say." There's the slightest lilt of uncertainty there, as if Thor isn't sure if what he's been told is entirely true. After everything thus far, he can't say he'd be surprised to find it they were being fed lies.

He grants him a wry smile at the comment, but he moves on quickly. "Between us? Natasha. She is not precisely the Natasha we knew, however." He doesn't elaborate on that just yet. "Distictmates of myself and Stark. You become close living in close quarters with strangers."
