[open] CATCH ALL

Who| ALL Y'ALL it's a ho down
What| A catch-all reaction log for the plot developments. Saves you from making 5 logs each tbh.
Where| All around the place
When| During and post lock down, 3am~ sunday onward
WARNINGS| Panicking, talk of murder and violence. Singing the songs of panem.

When things like THIS and THIS are going down it's probably a good time to touch base with one another. Face caressing, crying and meaningful stares abound as the Tributes and Staff drag their knuckles hopelessly in an effort to figure out what the fresh hell is going on.

Make your own prompts, feel free to make them closed to specific people.

It isn't easy. Bruce doesn't do well with losing control even if he does know what's happening.

Bruce jerked at the sound of Steve's voice, then once it registers who it is, he simultaneously feels relieved and sick. He has yet to figure out how to react to seeing familiar faces. "Likewise."

At the very least, he relaxes. Steve is one of the few people he feels somewhat comfortable around--maybe his natural good guy charisma has something to do with it, but he was one of the first people who treated him like a human regardless of his condition.

"Do you know what's going on? I'm hoping soldiers barging into suites in the middle of the night isn't a regular thing."

Until Banner mentions the peacekeepers barging in, Steve hadn't really thought about the man's past and how that must have been one hell of an unpleasant way to wake up. He has no idea if the man has been here long, but by the sounds of it, that might have been his first impression.

Just like jumping into the deep end of a freezing pool.

"It's not, been here a while and that's the first it's happened," Steve frowns, remembering seeing them take Mindy, how seeing the report only made it worse. "A peacekeeper, a real piece of work if you ask me, was killed," he does not sound upset about that at all, "anyone they suspect was involved was taken away."

"Oh, they kidnapped dozens of people of varying capability, forced them to play gladiator, and someone possibly retaliated? I'm shocked." Let it never be said that Bruce can't be sardonic as hell, but he's glad to have a little more context.

He crosses his arms, resisting the urge to fiddle with his glasses. "Did you know anyone who was taken? They took someone from my floor, but I only just got here late this night. I don't know who they took."

"Yeah, never imagined it would happen," Steve's very deadpan. He might not have ever suffered at that woman's hand, but he heard and saw enough to know she was a horrible person. So, he can't say he mourns her or condemns the assassin's actions, but that doesn't mean he likes what's resulted after though. Or is completely sure it was the right move with how things are developing.

Steve's eyes cast out into the crowd for a second before he nods, "Yeah, a few people, two I consider-" he seems to pause to choose a word "-allies." His gaze comes back to rest on Bruce, "There's something you need to know, one of them was Natasha, though she's not from our world, there seems to be-- a parallel to our world, many of the same people, but very little else seems to match up. She's from there."

Bruce is suspending judgment regarding the assassination for the moment. He doesn't understand the politics of the area, and he doesn't know anything about how the death will affect the Capitol beyond making them retaliate against Tributes. For all he knows, this could set off a domino effect to destabilize the Capitol.

In all likelihood, it just set off a whole lot of anti-Tribute sentiment, though.

"Yeah, Tony explained the alternate universe thing to me. Natasha was taken?" That wasn't good. Tony described her as similar to their own Natasha. While Bruce has... mixed feelings about the woman, the fact remains that he saved the world with some version of her, and that has to mean something. "How did they manage to take her without ending up unconscious?" And as mixed as his feelings are, he has to say, he's shocked that Peacekeepers were able to take her in.

Oh good, he won't have to explain the whole alternate worlds thing. That had been difficult late time he did it, he's just not got the scientific mind to actually explain it in any great detail beyond what he just said. It was just something he quickly accepted.

"They're more capable than they look," Steve casts a look at a Peacekeeper, but then his attention was back on Bruce. "They've taken me against my will before, beat and tased me unconscious my first day here," he huffs a breath, before giving a short shrug. "We're pretty well under these people's thumb, sorry to say."

Steve will change that. But for the moment, it's just a fact.
