[open] CATCH ALL
Who| ALL Y'ALL it's a ho down
What| A catch-all reaction log for the plot developments. Saves you from making 5 logs each tbh.
Where| All around the place
When| During and post lock down, 3am~ sunday onward
WARNINGS| Panicking, talk of murder and violence. Singing the songs of panem.
When things like THIS and THIS are going down it's probably a good time to touch base with one another. Face caressing, crying and meaningful stares abound as the Tributes and Staff drag their knuckles hopelessly in an effort to figure out what the fresh hell is going on.
Make your own prompts, feel free to make them closed to specific people.

Gotta make sure his bro ain't doing anything stupid, and if he is? Be stupid with him. There's no way he could let them get away with this, and he has every intention of going after Rose. You don't fuck with family, that just isn't a line you cross. It's one thing to toss them in an arena- they're all in it together when that happens. But this? This is too direct and too personal.
So when Bro happens to spot Dave on his way to District 9, he's quick to slip up beside him and fall into stride with him. "Keeping your nose clean, bro?" he asks, the epitome of casual innocence as he gives Dave a small nudge. When the teen looks at him, he'll quirk a brow. It's the brow of rebellion. Dave knows the one. The "I ain't standing for this" brow.

He isn't surprised when Bro approaches him, though the fact that he's tense shows in the way he bristles. "Been picking it all night." He crinkles it up and down in return, noting that subtle little quirk like it was a goddamn red-alert alarm. "Rose is gone. Terezi is gone. We're here." He says that plainly, as if he's just stating facts, when in reality he's proposing something.
no subject
But that's enough booger talk. It's obvious that Bro stiffens a little when Dave brings up Rose and Terezi. It's one thing knowing it's happened, but hearing it out loud just makes the anger flare up all over again. But he doesn't let it show too much aside from the tenseness. "They sure are. Guess they've been a little naughty." A roll of his eyes behind his shades. Rose isn't stupid enough to do something like that, so it really goddamn pisses him off that she's getting the blame. Terezi, though? Well, she seems capable of anything.
He lets a silence fall for a moment, before he speaks again, hoping it sounds completely unrelated. "I dunno about you, but some fresh air'd be great right now." AKA, Dave. Roof. Now. Because he's heard tale of it being easier to talk up there without being overheard. "Let's see how the air is up top." He won't really give Dave a choice as he makes his way towards the elevators.

"Fuck yeah. It smells like farts and cheetoh dust in here." He agrees, watching Bro's back as he walks ahead, muttering that Bro is probably the one making it smell. He keeps his head down as he walks, keeping his lazy teen posture as they step into the elevator and hoping to god they don't bump into anyone.

He'll shoot Dave a look when he mentions farts and cheetoh dust- or more specifically, when he hears him murmuring about how it's probably him. "Uh, excuse me? Pretty sure I caught you red-handed with your hand in the bag earlier, farting up a storm all the while."
It continues back and forth like that for a while, and fortunately they don't run into many people on the way. Their brotherly banter is enough to keep people from sticking their nose into the conversation, considering they're talking about cheetohs and farts. When they finally make it to the roof, though, Bro is gonna drop the banter and give turn serious.
"This shit ain't gonna fly," he says, his voice low. The wind on the roof, like so many people have said before, is loud enough to drown them out if they talk quietly enough.

"When shit like this goes down, people are gonna be quick to group. We gotta get in on that. It ain't like I don't trust and believe we could do it, but we don't know shit about this place and we don't have the means to be spinning sick nasty heroics on our own." That's hissed out as quickly as he can manage and he spreads his hands and shakes his head. "I don't have your money, Bro." He adds in a slightly louder voice as a cover before it drops again. "If we can hold tight, I think something will turn up on the network." And again, he raises a voice. "But it probably won't be your money, yet. Just some anonymous hobo."
no subject
But Dave is right. They can't go it alone.
"Well you better fuckin' find it soon" he says in a loud tone, before dropping it just the same as Dave had. "I don't like it, but you're right," he says. "But who're you talking about?" He hasn't been here long enough to know about the anonymous post shit, so he's a little confused. He'll reach out and give Dave a loud thwack on the ear, so anyone listening in can see that he's not happy with Dave's answer about the money.

He takes in a long breath and then lets it out. The cool air up here is pretty refreshing, and he feels slightly less on edge because of it. But only slightly. God, he really hopes Rose is okay. Their last conversation was... not the best, he can't help but feel pretty bad about it. If that's the last conversation they have, he'll never forgive himself. Thinking about it has his stomach turning.
It's funny how thinking about that suddenly makes him afraid of losing Dave, too. This whole scheme could go to hell so quickly, and he really could end up losing him. Or he himself could die, he's under no delusions that he's indestructible; his experience back in their world and both arenas are proof of that. He felt awkward hugging Dave that one time, but he didn't have the trauma or the fear backing him that day.
"I'm about to do something really fuckin' gross, and neither one of us are gonna feel clean for a long time after it's over," he states in a matter of fact tone, before stepping close to Dave so that he can do something really fucking uncool and pull him into a hug. It might be awkward as hell, but if they're gonna do something really fucking stupid like break somebody out of jail, he's not gonna let their last interaction be anything like his one with Rose.

"What?" He asks skeptically when Bro speaks up. "Seriously- what?" Is he going to talk about how gory this could get? Dave has vaguely considered what the Capitol may deem necessary at a time like this, but he's trying not to think too hard about what they're going to do to Rose. He's already angry enough for her, he doesn't want to let himself get scared.
Yet, he can't help feeling a little afraid when Bro of all people is pulling him in for a hug. Is it that bad? Is it that serious? Does he think they might not make it out? What if they do succeed, anyway, what if they make it through to the end and they go their separate ways? That'll be awkward. Not really anything he wants to think about right now, but he's not sure what else to do. Bro has thrown him through a loop, it seems. His arms hang by his sides for a long time, like he's having an out of body experience rather than feeling the moment.
"You made it weird." He murmurs, but he doesn't pull back.
no subject
It feels that bad, in a strange and pessimistic sort of way. Of course he wants to believe that the two of them are infallible and that they can make it in and out in one piece, but at the same time he wants to prepare for the worst and he guesses preparing for the worst includes doing something like this. Weird or not, he's making it happen.
"Silly Dave," Bro says, an air of amusement to his tone as he gives him a squeeze. "I make everything weird. I thought you knew that by now." He'll pull away then, because even he has a weird-o-meter and it's nearing dangerous levels. Still, he feels better with that out of the way. He'll recover a little by reaching out and ruffling Dave's hair, before turning away. "See you around, bro." He figures the two of them could use some time alone to mentally prepare and to get their head in the game with no pressure from the other to act or say certain things, so in a few short seconds he's already disappeared into the elevator, leaving Dave alone.
