Even though you know it's the wrong thing to say
Who| Felicity & Open.
What| Felicity tries to cope with girlfriend drama.
Where| Tribute tower common area.
When| During Family week.
Warnings/Notes| N/A? I'll update if necessary. Tag at your leisure! :)
Felicity was a mess. There was no other way to describe her current state of mind. All of the months she'd had to grieve and get her thoughts in order were meaningless now that Pippa was here. Beyond that, Pippa didn't seem to understand Felicity's resentment, having no idea of the betrayal she would eventually commit. The Pippa she was faced with was an uncorrupted, purer version of the Pippa she'd last encountered, and that made Felicity's heart ache all the more. She was enraged at Pippa, and for what? For something Pippa hadn't even done yet. It was all so unfair!
And she couldn't even appreciate Gemma's presence. Gemma, her dearest, truest friend in the world, the one person she could trust with her secrets, here at last. But soon Gemma would be gone, and Felicity would be alone again, left to mourn not only her best friend, but the girl she loved all over again. Felicity would have no one.
But perhaps it was better this way. Love was for the weak. Affection made people soft, and Fee could not afford the luxury of softness. She had to be bold and strong, and she couldn't let her feelings show. Instead, she put on a brave face, even as she excused herself from Pippa and Gemma's company in the District Two suites for some time spent alone in the common areas of the tower. She had to collect herself and be strong. Without her strength, she was nothing but a miserable, heartbroken little girl.

Just imagining himself in Felicity's shoes -being betrayed by a loved one and then having that betrayal result in the death of another loved one, maybe someone like the doc- made him already hate this person he'd never met before.
"...I'm gonna guess that part's already come up between you." He couldn't imagine it hadn't, it would be the very first thing he'd address with someone like that.
If only Void had shown up instead of his parents, that was someone Jet would have been able to handle. Although he supposed he'd already kind of handled him when Jet had dropped a giant chunk of the Pentagon's ceiling on the guy.

"But for what it's worth, I'm sorry to hear this happened to you and your friends."

Felicity catches herself using the pronoun a moment too late. The result is the proud blonde's cheeks burning deep red.

His shoulder brushed hers lightly. "Hey, we're some of the last people you've gotta worry about with something like that. Anyway, what's the worst that could happen if she tells her? It could change things." That seemed like a not so bad thing to him, if it was as bad as Felicity said.

The question of whether she should reveal their future to her friends is certainly a big one, but Albert thinks that on the point of her romantic leanings, Felicity might need a little more comfort that they won't sell her out or something than just to gloss over it. Granted, Jet could be right but Albert knows that if he'd made the same slip in the same situation, he'd want reassurances that it would remain secret. At least, until he was ready to tell. And that he would't be suddenly ostracized from what friends he'd made in this place.

"No!" She said, practically barking the syllable. If she was trying to play down her slip, she was certainly not succeeding. "I, er... I mean, nothing can change what will happen. She... Pippa, I mean, is already dead. The events are already in motion and the only thing telling her will do will enrage her. And I couldn't bear it if she were angry with me. Not after everything that's happened."
