Even though you know it's the wrong thing to say
Who| Felicity & Open.
What| Felicity tries to cope with girlfriend drama.
Where| Tribute tower common area.
When| During Family week.
Warnings/Notes| N/A? I'll update if necessary. Tag at your leisure! :)
Felicity was a mess. There was no other way to describe her current state of mind. All of the months she'd had to grieve and get her thoughts in order were meaningless now that Pippa was here. Beyond that, Pippa didn't seem to understand Felicity's resentment, having no idea of the betrayal she would eventually commit. The Pippa she was faced with was an uncorrupted, purer version of the Pippa she'd last encountered, and that made Felicity's heart ache all the more. She was enraged at Pippa, and for what? For something Pippa hadn't even done yet. It was all so unfair!
And she couldn't even appreciate Gemma's presence. Gemma, her dearest, truest friend in the world, the one person she could trust with her secrets, here at last. But soon Gemma would be gone, and Felicity would be alone again, left to mourn not only her best friend, but the girl she loved all over again. Felicity would have no one.
But perhaps it was better this way. Love was for the weak. Affection made people soft, and Fee could not afford the luxury of softness. She had to be bold and strong, and she couldn't let her feelings show. Instead, she put on a brave face, even as she excused herself from Pippa and Gemma's company in the District Two suites for some time spent alone in the common areas of the tower. She had to collect herself and be strong. Without her strength, she was nothing but a miserable, heartbroken little girl.

Jet+Albert for moral support
He had half a mind to avoid talking to anyone just in case Ciro suddenly found them, but then he spotted Felicity and she looked about as good as he felt. He crossed over to her and sat nearby, hoping maybe he could help someone else since he couldn't help himself.
"Hey. Rough week?"
no subject
He hopes not. They need a bit of breathing room.
Intent on his vigil, it takes a moment before he realizes who Jet is talking to and his posture relaxes into something slightly less tense and more concerned. He may have only spoken with Felicity once, but Jet spoke highly of her and she looks distressed. Still, he doesn't want to crowd, so instead he stands off the wall again and grunts quietly. "I'll make some tea."
Well, tea for himself and Felicity. Jet won't drink the stuff, so he'll rummage for some hot chocolate instead for him. Comforting drinks for everyone; it should help a little.

"I think I may go mad," she said, staring down her nose, lips pursed in an effort to maintain her composure. "That may have been the point to this reunion, I suppose. I cannot come up with any other reason for this."
no subject
"Yeah, maybe. Crazy or scared, I'd bet. Wanna talk about it or just sorta sit here and not think about it for a little while?"
no subject
He places the hot chocolate next to Jet, then leans against the wall again with his own mug, quiet the whole time to allow the verbal space for Felicity to speak.
no subject
"They brought someone I used to love." She said at last. Those words were a weight off her chest, and she felt a little stronger in simply acknowledging it. "We did not part on happy terms."
no subject
"Oh.." That sucked and hit a little close to home since there definitely had been a time when he'd loved his parents. It had just been a really long time.
"Maybe there's something in the details I don't know, but doesn't that mean you can try and patch things up now that they're here?"
no subject
"They seem to have brought the people in everyone's lives who would cause the most upset to the tribute in question." As much as he feels grateful he escaped that, he feels guilty for being one of the only ones not burdened with visitors.
He sips his tea quietly.
no subject
Her voice caught in a hiccup, to mask a sob. She wasn't ready to let them see her crying in earnest just yet.
Quickly, she sips from her drink, looking up at the pair of men. "What's more, my lover was a turncoat. We were betrayed, my friends and I. Our teacher was killed because of that betrayal."
no subject
Just imagining himself in Felicity's shoes -being betrayed by a loved one and then having that betrayal result in the death of another loved one, maybe someone like the doc- made him already hate this person he'd never met before.
"...I'm gonna guess that part's already come up between you." He couldn't imagine it hadn't, it would be the very first thing he'd address with someone like that.
If only Void had shown up instead of his parents, that was someone Jet would have been able to handle. Although he supposed he'd already kind of handled him when Jet had dropped a giant chunk of the Pentagon's ceiling on the guy.
no subject
"But for what it's worth, I'm sorry to hear this happened to you and your friends."
no subject
Felicity catches herself using the pronoun a moment too late. The result is the proud blonde's cheeks burning deep red.
no subject
His shoulder brushed hers lightly. "Hey, we're some of the last people you've gotta worry about with something like that. Anyway, what's the worst that could happen if she tells her? It could change things." That seemed like a not so bad thing to him, if it was as bad as Felicity said.
no subject
The question of whether she should reveal their future to her friends is certainly a big one, but Albert thinks that on the point of her romantic leanings, Felicity might need a little more comfort that they won't sell her out or something than just to gloss over it. Granted, Jet could be right but Albert knows that if he'd made the same slip in the same situation, he'd want reassurances that it would remain secret. At least, until he was ready to tell. And that he would't be suddenly ostracized from what friends he'd made in this place.
no subject
"No!" She said, practically barking the syllable. If she was trying to play down her slip, she was certainly not succeeding. "I, er... I mean, nothing can change what will happen. She... Pippa, I mean, is already dead. The events are already in motion and the only thing telling her will do will enrage her. And I couldn't bear it if she were angry with me. Not after everything that's happened."
