Who| Cuthbert and Open
What| Extremely mature pouting and moping
Where| District 3 Suites, mostly
When| After his death and return to the Capitol
Warnings/Notes| none so far
Cuthbert Allgood is not taking his latest death well. It doesn't help that his fight with Sherlock is making the rounds in the highlight reel, and he's taking it harder than he has in the past. He hasn't talked to anyone so far, not even the avoxes who he will carry on half conversations with most of the time.
For someone who spends a lot of his time training normally he hasn't been further out of the District 3 Suites than to ride the elevator down to District 1 and back up. He hasn't even been able to get off the elevator to see someone he really wants to see.
Most people will find him wrapped up under a blanket from his room in the main District 3 eating area watching and (surprisingly) not commenting on their activities. All of this is abnormal behavior for him, not that he would notice or care at this point.

"Eddie, do you have a father?"
no subject
"No. My mother raised my brother and I."
And now they were on their own, grown men who couldn't quiet find their way around how to family correctly.

Cuthbert feels worse for having brought up awkward feelings for Eddie. He pulls his legs up closer and hides his face in his knees.

"One arena isn't the judge of a man. If failing once, when the odds are stacked against you shames your father...dude needs to keep his panties untwisted." He smirked again, hoping that Bert didn't get too bent out of shape over that comment. "You'll have plenty of chances to prove your self."
no subject
"As it is I will need all those chances and more."
He lowered his head again so it wouldn't be so obvious when he thanked Eddie for cheering him up.

It felt there should be more he should be able to say. That honor had no place in an Arena, but maybe a place somewhere else.
But right now, Bert seemed to at least be feeling somewhat better.
"We got a while till then though. So. Drink and be merry dude."
no subject
"If you can make it through, I can make it through, aye?"
And if there was one thing Cuthbert couldn't miss it was an invitation to cavort.
"Are you inviting me? Because I may need a bath before merriment can be achieved."

Of course he was also up against other kids. But now didn't really seem the best time to point that out.
He also perked up. It hadn't exactly been an invitation, but Eddie was never one to say no. Especially when he was extending himself the invitation.
"I am always down for drinking and being merry."

Bert actually tottered to his feet at that, trying to pull himself together to some extent. It's harder than he thought it would be at this point. Effort is exhausting.
"Would we be able to stay here and drink? I may not yet be up to the hustle and bustle of town."
no subject
Staying in actually sounded beautiful. "Sounds like a plan to me."
He wasn't sure he was ready to go running back to town yet, either.

Once he was on his feet, it was easier. Although he did feel a bit like a newborn foal, libel to collapse on his own legs if he wasn't careful.
"I will do my best to clean up if you will find something good to fill our cups."
That was the best sort of promise he could make just then.

He was already half way to the little panel, that would send up whatever they wanted, and tossed Bert a thumbs up.
Of course, everyone in the Capitol had bullshit fruity drinks, and it took a couple tries, and at least one thing with a sugared rim being sent up, before Bert made it clear they just wanted some whiskey.
"We've got two Whiskeys and a whipped key, whatever the heel that is." He said as he brought over the three glasses.

"I'll take it." He raised his glass to Eddie.
"To life, and death, and all the messy things that happen in between."

Eddie clinked their glasses together, before taking a long, burning sip. It hit hard, and then spread smoothly through him.
At least all of the Capitol shit was good shit. Whiskey included. He didn't know how some of his co-workers in this mentoring business choked down some of the things they drank.
"And isn't it messy shit."
