Cuthbert Allgood is not taking his latest death well. It doesn't help that his fight with Sherlock is making the rounds in the highlight reel, and he's taking it harder than he has in the past. He hasn't talked to anyone so far, not even the avoxes who he will carry on half conversations with most of the time.

For someone who spends a lot of his time training normally he hasn't been further out of the District 3 Suites than to ride the elevator down to District 1 and back up. He hasn't even been able to get off the elevator to see someone he really wants to see.

Most people will find him wrapped up under a blanket from his room in the main District 3 eating area watching and (surprisingly) not commenting on their activities. All of this is abnormal behavior for him, not that he would notice or care at this point.

"Keep watching. You will see me die again, in all of its terrible glory."

He huddles in on himself more. Part of him wants to turn away from it but mostly he thinks he should watch and feel the shame he's so rightly earned.

"No man who would die so easily should be allowed to carry guns."

It means a lot more to him than it probably does to Eliot.

Eliot shakes his head. "I've seen it. I've died worse."

He shakes the memory away. This isn't a good time for that. "It has nothin' ta do with your fitness ta carry a gun."

He stares at Eliot for a longer than comfortable amount of time.

"You have a father, aye?"

Cuthbert is completely serious as he asks, even if the question seems odd and out of place.

"I do." Eliot doesn't say anything about the oddness of asking that question. There's a reason behind it. He can tell that. "I haven't seen him since I was eighteen."

That isn't especially odd where Cuthbert comes from, so he doesn't take it as a bad sign.

"Do you think your father would be proud of you?"

"No. But he'd never be prouda me no matter what I did." It's a sore spot. The man had always been a piece of shit from what he could remember.

"I don't know if that's true. But I can understand the sentiment."

He isn't making this better, or easier. Just sadder. So he turns his attention back to the highlights on TV.
