COMBAT B
Who| Combat B
What| Alien attack
Where| The neighborhood under attack.
Warnings/Notes| Please post any warning in your threads subject header when they become applicable. Please shot any questions/concerns to mod through PM. Here is the plotting post for reference.
This group is sent into the neighborhood directly from the training center.
The neighborhood, like many in the Capitol, is comprised up tightly packed town house like residential buildings, as well as smatterings of boutique like stores gathered around large intersections. All of them have been entirely cleared out, except for the stray animal here and there.
The aliens here are full grown adults, and they are viciously (do they do it any other way?) defending the queen and her nest.

TEAM 9
Re: TEAM 9
"If I knew what they smelled like." She whispered to herself, giving her team a glance. Protection of them, then the alien, then whatever else might come their way.
"Stay together?"
Re: TEAM 9
There Don was. He had the flamethrower and his gun, both issued by the Capitol, holstered but ready. He stared out towards the open, feeling not excitement or fear. Simply the expectation that something was going to die that night.
Gun. He had a gun. And he was going to use it. Just like that.
He didn't even realize - or care - anymore how lost he'd gotten, or how far he'd fallen. The rabbit hole didn't seem to have a rock bottom, after all.
"Just stay out of my way when we find one."
Re: TEAM 9
He probably won't hit anything. R trudges along at the end of his group, one dragging step at a time, and eavesdropping on them, he had no idea if either of them were ace snipers here or anything. He assumes they'll actually hit something at least.
It takes him awhile to come up with an idea. As the resident Dead guy he feels like he's the one with least to lose here.
"Need...decoy? Bait?" R chimes up from the back where he'd been groaning quietly to himself until now. "I...can...go."
Re: TEAM 9
She shakes her head slightly at the zombie's- R's? suggestion. "No, I think we should stay together for now. I am listening for any sounds, and we are alone."
Re: TEAM 9
She at least tries to peer ahead into the darker spots, watching for sudden movements there. After a few quiet minutes, she looks over their little group for a moment and into the dark of buildings.
"Can anyone else see in the dark? I could go ahead into buildings to scout."

Don quietly stared into the blackness, his eyes narrowed as the moments went by. He was hardly someone who could go onto the spiritual plane - if he were, he'd be Master Splinter. Able to manipulate reality, able to find the aliens easily.
But what did spirituality count for here? Especially when they weren't the originals anyhow? He began to cock his the flamethrower, ready to go in after Disciple.

"Can't. Only...smell..." R chimed up. And with these three, he was so busy smelling them and how not-human they're pinging his nose that he wasn't getting these...other things out there. R didn't seem to worried - when a can skittered yards away, he didn't start, just stared as if only vaguely interested.
He almost dropped his gun, the weapon hanging from his fingers.
Have some intel!
"Team 9, this is Joan Watson with Intel. You'll want to be careful going in there, I'm picking up a heat source moving around in...um...looks like the second floor. Near the rear of the building."
Re: Have some intel!
At this, he stared at Disciple.
"If you're going to scout out, we're going to be right behind you now."

She really wanted him to stick a few paces back but she'd deal with it. The door opened--trusting Capitolites she could thank and she slowly pushed the door open. Letting her eyes adjust in the doorway, she nodded back at the group and crept along the hallway. She tried to move as silently as possible, perhaps to make up for the three following her who were slightly less silent.

"Go...in?" He doesn't seem to worried about being brutally maimed as some of the unlucky people who ran into this thing. R starts to shuffle for the door, his feet scuffing.
INTEL
"I think you guys are good for the first floor, at least. There's a stairwell...okay, west wall. You'll want the second floor. I think."
There's something weird about the heat signature she's getting, but the building is too dark to get a visual on it.
Re: INTEL
"I'm heading up." She said as softly as possible while being heard.
