Who: Katniss and Cinna
What: A fitting, inspired by this McQueen design.
Where: Stylist area
When: Sometime in the afternoon
Warnings: None
The prep team had had their way with Katniss, despite the fact that she didn't have any major appearances scheduled. Cinna had been working on this design for a few days, and this was the fitting to make sure it looked as good in reality as it had in his head. He had requested she have her makeup and hair done so that he could see the final stage before making up his mind.
He really didn't have the time for that kind of frivolity any more, but the prep team had been complaining about not getting to see Katniss as often now that there were so many Tributes so he had given them the chance to do their magic with her.
He got the feeling they were a little creeped out by the new Tributes. No, not exactly 'creeped' out. There were moments when he thought they didn't see the other Tributes as fully human. After all, being human meant that death was the end. If Tributes could return and return, it was possible they were something else. The idea made him uncomfortable, but he still wanted his team to be happy. They were products of their culture, not the creators of it. Plus, he was hoping they'd see that there really was nothing different between Katniss and the others by being able to compare them to her more fully.
Being unable to focus would make them less productive. Katniss might think of them as little birds, but if that was the case, they were Cinna's birds. He had to take care of them and keep them in shape. Even if they could get annoying.
When he finally came into the room he had the clothes wrapped up in black garment bags. He turned and looked at her, examining what they had done. Her hair was up this time, carefully crafted to give the collar of the design all of the space it needed to shine. Her makeup was a light gold, contrasting the colors well. He also couldn't help it, his own eyeliner matched.
"We really should say that you came up with this one," he said by way of greeting her. Smirking a bit and reminding her of her supposed talent. "Or at least that we did it together. I wouldn't want to give all of the credit away."

"God, Cinna...this is astounding..."
His designs always were. But something about how perfect the feather were...she couldn't stop herself from touching them.
"Nobodies gonna buy I had anything to do with this."

Cinna smirked a bit, latching onto the chance to tease her. While he adored her, he felt less guilty about whatever he was doing by treating her like a friend, instead of a symbol.
"Oh I know," he said, still smirking a bit at her. "Come to think of it, we could probably say you did the stitching on the boots?"

"So we're working on feast or famine here, huh..." She looked down at the boots, at the beautiful stitching there, and rethought her statement. "Actually, thank you for realizing my skill levels."

He chuckled a bit. "If there's one thing I know," he said with honesty in his voice. "It's just what you're capable of."
There was so much more to what he was saying than he could fully express, and a part of him hoped that she wouldn't realize it either. There were some hopes he wasn't sure he could or should share with her.

Whatever it was, she was fairly certain it wasn't something she should push at. Not here.
"I'm glad you have faith in me. And if this is what comes from us working together, we should keep doing it."

Cinna chuckles softly. "Maybe you should help me with the new Tributes," he commented. "Considering they more than tripled my work load on me and changed the Games from an annual event to one every other month." His tone was light as he said it. He didn't really sound like he was complaining about his life becoming more hectic than what he had originally signed on for. He had had enough Arenas to get used to this new pace so it wasn't something new he was handling.
An extra pair of hands would actually be welcome though. Even if he trusted her far more with a bow than he did with fabric.

And she was happy to have a chance to spend more time with Cinna.
"I'd love to."

"That's just going to make them work harder for it." But the thought of playing coy like that, tricking them like that, it pleased her just a little bit.
