He's happy to be here

Who: Gambit and anyone
What: Waking up in a horrible place
Where: District 10 Suites, the Common Area of the Training Center
When: Yesterday, before the crowning
Warnings: Gonna be a little slow, sorry

District 10
Remy stared at the room, then the peacekeeper, then the communicator he was handed, then the elevator the peacekeeper disappeared into.

He wanted to make a fuss, but the Cajun was still trying to figure out if this was some sort of horrible prank or if this was real on some level. Maybe this was some crazy telepath's idea of torture? If so, it would make more sense to add his friends here instead of total strangers.

Well, weirder things have happened... Didn't that guy mention something about dying?

Remy turned back to the room... "Bonjour?" Someone's having a serious delayed reaction.

Common Area
This wasn't a dream. It wasn't a telepath. He was about 85% sure this was all actually real. He had really been pulled into another dimension to fight people to the death. That was a real thing...

Remy just sat down pretty heavy on one of the sofas, rubbing his face. Might as well do so here. Everywhere else was full of people, too. He really needed a drink.

Fortunately, Iskierka doesn't recognize 'desolé' as being French and so conversation is free to continue on without any undue shows of anger. Besides, even if she had he's still mostly speaking English, so perhaps things would have worked out. The point is rather moot however, just at the moment and she continues merrily along.

"Oh, you may call me Iskierka. Who are you?"

Assuming it ever manages to come up, yes. As things stand, Iskierka is generally of the opinion that speaking French is the same as being French, but then again, she's from a time period significantly earlier than Remy himself does.

"Oh no," she answers, with a shake of her head. "My captain is human and so are many of the other aviators. It's only that I've never been small enough to fit inside before, save for when I was just hatched and we had to keep moving then."

"Ever so much so," she answers with a nod, and that's about the best description of how much larger she can give Remy. She doesn't know enough about math to know about fractions beyond the everyday sort and has never measured herself anyway. All she knows is that she's supposed to be much larger than she currently is, and that will have to do.

"You may call me Iskierka," she adds, as a sort of afterthought.

"Not very long at all," she answers. "Only long enough to know what they want of us and a few more things besides. And I suppose it isn't so bad, being this small. It's much easier to talk to people now."

Not, of course, that she couldn't before, but it's a little harder to so when people are afraid you simply on account of your sheer size.

"Why, of course it is," Iskierka answers. "Although I cannot imagine why someone would have a problem with being made to fight."

There's nothing wrong with it after all, and of course people are going to die, so it's not even much different from home. True, she's never actually met people she's going to be potentially killing later, but that's shouldn't make much of a difference, as she see things.

There's a blink at Remy's words, which really ought to be answer enough. She knows - very vaguely - what sarcasm is, but has never seen much of a reason to use it herself.

"Why, not at all."

The idea of not wanting being in fights is very strange one to Iskierka. Fighting is simply what she's best at, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that, or surely someone would have told her.

(Not that it would have had much of an effect, but that's another matter entirely.)

"Well, I suppose they are allowed their opinion, although I cannot see much use to it."

"Whyever would I not?"

It's a simple answer, truth be told, but there's enough in it to at least give a general idea of her opinions on the idea of fighting. If she has to kill people, well, that's no more than she would be doing at home.
