[He's getting better at this, he thinks.

Or he wants to believe that, anyway. His arrows never fly straight, and half the time his wrist cramps up and he can't let them fly at all. Still, he wants to get good at this so badly. There's no way he'll use a knife or a spear or something that would require him to feel someone die, feel their blood spill, not if he can help it. No, this is better, distance is better, even if this is so impractical and he feels like giving up a little more every time an arrow bounces limply off the opposite wall.

If there's any skill he's always been good at, it's perseverance. And there's no way he's going to stand around and wait to die like Eponine had suggested. He doesn't want to kill people, but he has to survive. It doesn't take a genius to do the math.]

[He blinks.] I suppose. You could show me after we're done eating?

You want to start today?

How are your arms feeling?

They're fine.

[A pause, and suddenly he's pushing his food away, half-eaten.]

I'm actually not that hungry. Let's go now, okay?

[Blaine blinks a bit]

Wh-what? [He asks, a little surprised, but he recovers and smiles] Let me at least finish my water? [He asks, before going to chug down the rest of his drink.]

Okay. Hurry up, though.

[Yeah Blaine when Kurt sets his mind to something there's no distracting him, even with food. He waits patiently for Blaine to finish then leads the way back to the training area. He quickly changes back into a workout outfit and it's back to square one.]

Okay, just show me the basics. I've got this.

[Blaine feels a little surprised by the whole thing, but he goes with it. Any excuse to touch Kurt and spend time with him is good in his mind. Once they're back in their work out clothes and in the training center he goes to a punching bag.

Ideally, he'd have on some hand mitts and teach Kurt that way, but that requires cooperation and most of the supplies here are about training on your own.]

Okay. First, comes stance and the way you move your arm.

[He demonstrates the way he should stand and the way he holds and moves his hands for Kurt.]

I want some klaaaaine

[Kurt is painfully awkward but full of determination as he tries to mimic Blaine's actions. He bits his lip as he poses, getting ready to punch.]

[Blaine reaches out and corrects the way that Kurt is holding his arm. His hands touch Kurt gently as he corrects the way that his arm is angled.]

Good, but try like this?

Oh-- All right.

[He lets Blaine maneuver him like a doll, completely clueless. For once he actually wishes he'd paid attention when Finn watched sports like this.]

So I just punch now?

[Blaine smiles a bit.] Well, it's not just punching. You have to think about where you're applying the pressure and how you're going to aim. [He explains a bit about how to land a good punch and then steps back to let Kurt try it.]
