Who | Donatello and OPEN
What | Don has returned to the Capitol, and he's learned that Lottie is gone. Abandon hope all ye who enter.
Where | Throughout Tribute Tower, but starting in Lottie's room.
When | Last week of Arena 7
Warnings/Notes | Donatello is currently still full-tilt mad. Just as a warning.
She was gone. Gone. They didn't clone her.
Don simply sat on her bed, staring at the wall, thinking about those times they had together. How he'd vowed he would get her out of the Arena, protect her. And now, she was gone. All of them were. Even Momoko, a girl he barely knew but did his best to help. Even Valeria. Perhaps they could have been friends, that spiking incident notwithstanding.
There really was nothing left. Nothing holding him back. No reason to. He was alone, now, just him and his opponents. That's all they would ever be, now. Ever could be. Just as he could only be their opponent. That was the nature of these new Hunger Games. A ruminant of humanity, they ate everyone alive, and then spit them back out, regurgitating them, so they might be eaten again. Until they were just perfect.
Until they were Victors, or what the Capitol wanted them to be. Entertaining killers, with no ties to their families, their friends, their previous memories and existence which, for all of them, were little more than fabricated downloaded lies.
Well. He wasn't a Victor yet. Which meant he only had one option come the next Arena.
After all, who said he had to let the virus overtake him in order to be a monster?

"Wh-when they didn't bring back Ele... I thought, maybe, that being weaker was a little bit... a little safer. That the people wanted me here... and Rapunzel, and Lottie. They weren't weak, but they were not- not warriors. Not hard like that. I started to think they valued that here."
